Abstract
La invención se refiere a un proceso para preparar dimetacrilato de isosorbida por transesterificación de (met)acrilato de alquilo con isosorbida, que comprende las siguientes etapas: (i) la reacción de (met)acrilato de alquilo con isosorbida en presencia de un catalizador que comprende titanio (IV) o zirconio (IV) y un estabilizante en presencia de un agente azeotrópico que forma un azeátropo con el alcohol ligado en el (met)acrilato de alquilo, (ii) la destilación continua del azeótropo de agente azeotrópico y alcohol, en donde las etapas (i) y (ii) se llevan a cabo simultáneamente hasta que la isosorbida se haya convertido esencialmente por completo, (iii) la adición de agua a la mezcla de producto que comprende (met)acrilato de isosorbida y se obtiene en las etapas (i) y (ii) y la remoción del hidrolizado del catalizador que comprende titanio (IV) o zirconio (IV), (iv) la destilación de (met)acrilato de alquilo sin convertir y el agente azeotrópico de la mezcla de producto, y (v) la destilación de agua de la mezcla de producto, en donde la etapa (iv) también se puede llevar a cabo antes de la etapa (iii) y las etapas (iv) y (v) también se puede llevar a cabo en una etapa de destilación.
