Abstract
Un proceso continuo para la preparación de óxido de propileno, que comprende (a) hacer reaccionar propeno, opcionalmente mezclado con propano, con peróxido de hidrógeno en un aparato de reacción en presencia de acetonitrilo como solvente, obteniendo una corriente S0 que contiene óxido de propileno, acetonitrilo, agua, al menos otro componente B, opcionalmente propeno y opcionalmente propano, en donde el punto de ebullición normal del al menos un componente B es mayor que el punto de ebullición normal de acetonitrilo y en donde el logaritmo decádico del coeficiente de partición de octanol-agua (log KOW) del al menos un componente B es mayor que cero; (b) separar óxido de propileno de S0, obteniendo una corriente S1 que contiene acetonitrilo, agua y el al menos otro componente B; (c) dividir S1 en dos corrientes S2 y S3; (d) someter S3 a un fraccionamiento de vapor-líquido en una unidad de fraccionamiento, obteniendo una corriente de fracción de vapor S4 agotada del al menos un componente B; (e) reciclar al menos una porción de S4, opcionalmente después de elaboración, en (a).
