Abstract

La presente invención se relaciona con un método para fabricar un disco de freno que comprende las siguientes etapas operativas: a) proporcionar un disco de freno, que comprende una banda de frenado 2 elaborada de aluminio o aleación de aluminio y proporcionada con dos superficies de frenado opuestas 2a, 2b, cada una de las cuales define por lo menos parcialmente uno de los dos lados principales del disco; b) depositar un material en forma de partículas en el disco con técnica HVOF (Combustible en Oxígeno de Alta Velocidad) o con técnica HVAF (Combustible en Aire de Alta Velocidad) o con la técnica KM (Metalización Cinética), formando un recubrimiento protector 3 que cubre por lo menos una de las dos superficies de frenado de la banda de frenado. El material en forma de partículas se compone de 80 a 90% en peso de carburo de tungsteno, 8% a 12% en peso de cobalto y 2% a 6% en peso de cromo.
