Abstract
Se divulga un sistema de detección y reducción de lesiones para un vehículo a fin de identificar un objeto en un episodio de impacto. El sistema incluye una unidad de detección de impacto que comprende un sensor de impacto y una unidad de detección de presión. El sensor de impacto tiene una primera y una segunda porción de tubo llenas de un fluido. La unidad de detección de presión tiene una carcasa y un primer y un segundo sensor de presión ubicados dentro de la carcasa. La primera porción de tubo del sensor de impacto está sujeta al primer sensor de presión y la segunda porción de tubo del sensor de impacto está sujeta al segundo sensor de presión. La unidad de detección de presión detecta cambios en la presión del fluido dentro de los tubos. En una realización, las porciones de tubo del sensor de impacto definen un circuito. En otra realización, al menos una porción de la primera porción de tubo y al menos una porción de la segunda porción de tubo comparten un eje común.
