Abstract

La presente invención proporciona métodos personalizados para prevenir y/o reducir obesidad infantil temprana que se basan en identificar el riesgo de obesidad individual de un niño y en personalizar métodos para prevenir o reducir obesidad. Los métodos se basan en un inicio temprano (por ejemplo, tercer trimestre de embarazo), orientación anticipatoria (por ejemplo, antes de que un bebé alcance una etapa de desarrollo específica), orientación secuencial y orientación para conductas alimentarias por los padres y dietarias adecuadas desde el punto de vista nutricional y de desarrollo, todos factores específicamente cruciales que han estado asociados con la obesidad infantil. Los métodos usan un calculador de riesgo de obesidad para personalizar los métodos para abordar el riesgo individual de un niño con respecto a factores modificables específicos asociados con obesidad. Los presentes métodos pueden ayudar a instilar hábitos alimentarios sanos tempranos y preferencias de alimentos nutritivos para bebés y niños pequeños, promover una trayectoria de crecimiento temprana adecuada, y un estado de peso a largo plazo que sea consistente con las recomendaciones de políticas públicas y asociado con salud a largo plazo.
