Abstract
La presente descripción se refiere a la recuperación de MGP (metales del grupo platino) a partir de catalizadores homogéneos consumidos presentes en una fase orgánica. Específicamente, se proporciona un proceso pirometalúrgico por el cual los MGP, y el Rh en particular, se concentran en fases metalúrgicas, volviéndolos accesibles para su refinación de acuerdo con procesos conocidos. A tal efecto, se publica un proceso que comprende los siguientes pasos: - proporcionar un horno con baño de fundición, que contiene un inyector sumergido equipado para encender combustible líquido; - proporcionar un baño de fundición que comprende una fase metálica y/o de mata y una fase de escoria; - alimentar a través del inyector el catalizador homogéneo gastado y un gas que contiene O2, recuperándose la mayor parte de los MGP en la fase metálica y/o de mata; - separar la fase metálica y/o de mata que contiene los MGP de la fase de escoria. La energía almacenada del residuo orgánico puede utilizarse eficazmente para calentamiento y/o reducción de la carga metalúrgica en el horno. Se recuperan los metales valiosos con alto rendimiento, y se destruye el residuo orgánico perjudicial desde el punto de vista ambiental.
