La invención se refiere a un proceso para preparar 1,4-quinona metanuros sustituidos de la fórmula (I) a partir de 4-hidroxibenzaldehídos 3,5-disustituidos y también a un proceso para preparar 4-hidroxibenzaldehídos 3,5-disustituidos a partir de los fenoles 2,6-disustituidos correspondientes.
