Abstract

Un método para producir arrabia por el procesamiento directo de arenas de ferrotitanio, mediante los pasos de: (a) mezclar un agente reductor carbonáceo, un agente de flujo y un aglutinante con materiales que contienen titanio seleccionado de arenas de hierro, óxidos metálicos y/o tierras de hierro, concentrados para formar una mezcla; (b) formar aglomerados a partir de la mezcla; (c) introducir los aglomerados en un horno fundidor; (d) fundir los aglomerados a una temperatura de 1500 a 176000 y formar el metal caliente con la escoria en los mismos; (e) remover la escoria: (f) colar el metal caliente; y (g) recuperar los valores de titano y vanadio.
