Abstract

Una aleacion de acero al carbono que exhibe propiedades de alta resistencia, ductilidad y resistencia a la corrosion es aquella cuya microestructura contiene regiones de ferrita combinadas con regiones de martensita-austenita, con precipitados de carburo dispersos en las regiones de ferrita, pero sin precipitados de carburo en cualquiera de las interfaces entre diferentes fases. La microestructura contiene asi cuatro fases distintas: (1) listones de martensita separadas por (2) peliculas delgadas de austenita retenida, mas (3) regiones de ferrita, que contienen (4) precipitados de carburo. En ciertas modalidades, la microestructura ademas contiene regiones de ferrita libres de carburo.
