Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a procedimiento para la preparación de acetato de vinilo en fase gaseosa a partir de etileno, ácido acetico y oxígeno o gases que contienen oxígeno, en presencia de un catalizador, que contiene paladio y/o sus compuestos así como eventualmente, de modo adicional, oro y/o compuestos de oro, así como, en calidad de activadores, compuestos de metales alcalinos, y eventualmente de modo adicional compuestos de cadmio, sobre un soporte, que consta de SiO2 o de una mezcla de SiO2 y Al203 con una superficie específica de 50.250 m2/g y un volumen de poros de 0.4-1,2 ml/g y cuyas partículas tienen un tamaño de granos de 4 a 9 mm, estando formado de un 5 a un 20 por ciento del volumen de poros del soporte por poros que tienen radios de 200 a 3.000 A y de un 50 a un 90 por ciento del volumen de poros del soporte por poros que tienen radios de 70 a 100 A, caracterizado porque se prensan las partículas del soporte con ayuda de una sal de Li, Mg, Al, Zn o Mn de un ácido carboxílico C2-C20 o de una mezcla de tales sales, en calidad de agentes aglutinantes.
