Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a una composición ctalizadora para preparar tereftalato de polietileno a partir de ácido tereftalático, caracterizada porque comprende: a) un primer catalizador metálico de cuando menos un elemento de cobalto y zinc que está presente dentro de una gama de desde aproximadamente 5 hasta aproximadamente 60 partes por millón; b) un segundo catalizador de metal de cuando menos uno de los elementos de zinc, manganeso, magnesio y calcio, que está presente en una gama de desde aproximadamente 10 hasta aproximadamente 150 partes por millón; y c) antimonio que está presente dentro de una gama de desde 150 hasta 1100 partes por millón; en la que las cantidades se basan en el rendimiento teórico del tereftalato de polietileno.
