Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un proceso para la prparación de ésteres de ácido alfa-sulfograsos en las mezclas surfactantes y surfactantes ligeramente coloreadas producidas por la sulfonación de los ésteres de alquilo de ácidos grasos con menos que 2 moles de SO3 por mol de éster de alquilo de ácido graso, y la subsecuente elaboración del sulfonato crudo en un medio acuoso para formar las sales, las mejoras que comprenden reducir el contenido de disalación por medio de transesterificar el sulfoanto crudo con cuando menos alrededor de 0.5 moles equivalentes de cuando menos un alcohol, en base al SO3 que no es utilizado para la alfa-sulfonación, antes del tratamiento del mismo con un medio acuoso.
