Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a procedimiento para recuperar oro a partir de mena sulfídica que contiene hierro, aurífera, refractaria, caracterizado porque comprende: alimentar mena molida como un lodo acuoso a una etapa de pretratamiento acídica, tratar la mena molida en la etapa de pretratamiento acídica con una solución de ácido sulfúrico acuoso para descomponer compuestos de ganga que consumen ácido y carbonato que de otra manera podrían inhibir una etapa de oxidación a presión subsecuente, someter el lodo tratado a una primera etapa de separación líquido-sólidos para producir una solución de sulfato y sólidos separados, añadir agua a la solución separada en una primera etapa de nuevo batido de la pasta para formar un lodo que tiene una densidad de pulpa en el rango desde aproximadamente 25 hasta aproximadamente 60 por ciento en peso de sólidos, oxidar el primer lodo batido de nuevo en una etapa de oxidación a presión a una temperatura en el rango desde aproximadamente 135 hasta aproximadamente 250 grados C bajo una atmósfera de oxidación a presión mientras que se mantiene a una concentración de ácido libre desde aproximadamente 5 hasta aproximadamente 40 g/L de ácido sulfúrico para provocar la disolución de hierro, formar ácido sulfúrico y oxidar substancialmente todos los compuestos de sulfuro oxidables a la forma sulfato con menos de aproximadamente 20 por ciento de azufre oxidado presente como azufre elemental durante la etapa de oxidación.
