Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un aparato para controlar la cantidad máxima de suministro de combustible de un motor de combustión interna, que permite una corriente de gas de escape que puede contener material en partículas, eléctricamente cargadas, que incluye miembros de suministro de combustible que responden a una entrada de demanda de cantidad de combustible y a una señal límite de cantidad de combustible para suministrar al motor la cantidad de demanda de combustible, dentro del límiete de cantidad, caracterizado porque comprende: una sonda adaptada para ser montada en asociación operativa con la corriente de gas de escape en una estaciónsensora corriente abajo del motor, para sentir inductivamente el material en partículas eléctricamente cargadas, presentes en la corriente de gas de escape para proveer una señal eléctrica, indicativa del nivel de partículas en la corriente de gas de escape, y a una correlación predeterminada entre la señal de nivel de partículas y una señal de nivel de humo derivada de la opacidad, para proveer una señal de nivel de humo sentida, llevada a una escala con respecto a un valor de humo derivado de la opacidad, es determinada para combustible en además a una serie predeterminada de condiciones de operación de motor, cada vez que el motor es operado, para modificar dicha correlación predeterminada, en la medida necesaria, para comprensar las variaciones en las características del combustible del motor, medios para proveer la entrada de demanda de la cantidad de combustible; y medios generadores de señal, que responden a las señales de condición de operación del motor que, incluyen cuando menos la señal de nivel de humo percibida para proveer la señal limite de cantidad de combustible.
