Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a el procedimiento para preparar mercapturos de metal alcalinotérreo de la fórmula general (M(SR)2, en donde M es un metal alcalinotérreo, seleccionado del grupo IIa de la table periódica que consiste de bario, calcio, magnesio y estroncio y R es un radical hidrocarburo que tiene de 1 a 22 átomos de carbono, que comprende: (1) formar una mezcla en un reactor de: (a) un óxido de metal de la fórmula general MO o un hidróxido de metal de la fórmula M(OH)2, xH20, en donde x es el número de 0 a 16; b) un alcohol de la fórmula general R'OH, en donde R' es un radical hidrocarburo de 1 a 22 átomos de carbono y (c) un mercaptano de la fórmula HSR, (2) someter la mezcla (1) bajo condiciones de reacción durante un tiempo suficiente para fomrar primer un alcóxido de metil M(OR')2 in situ y después un producto de reacción final del mercapturo deseado m(SR)2, mientras se separa agua de la mezcla de reacción, (3) separar el mercapturo de metal (M(SR)2 del resto de la mezcla de (2).
