Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un procedimiento de dos etapas para tratar agua de desperdicio que contiene COD, caracterizado porque comprende los pasos de; a) poner en contacto el agua de desperdicio con los biosólidos anaeróbicos y adsorbente en polvo, en una primera zona de tratamiento anaeróbico para formar un licor anaeróbico mixto, y separar una porción sustancial del COD del agua de desperdicio b) separar un gas combustible del licor anaeróbico mixto dentro de la primera zona de tratamiento c) separar una porción sustancial de los biosólidos anaeróbicos y el adsorbente en polvo del licor anaeróbico mixto, mediante medios separadores dentro de la primera zona de tratamiento para producir una primera fase de sólidos y una primera fase acuosa d) transferir la primera fase acuosa de la primera zona de tratamiento a una segunda zona aerobica e) airear y mezclar la primera fase acuosa con un gas que contiene oxígeno sólidos de licor aeróbico mixto compuestos de biosólidos aeróbicos y adsorbente en polvo, primera fase acuosa f) separar los sólidos de licor aeróbico mixto del líquido así tratado, para producir una segunda fase de sólidos sedimentados y una segunda fase acuosa g) descargar la segunda fase acuosa al ambiente o a la reutilización H) transferir una porción de la segunda fase de sólidos sedimentadps desde la segunda zona de tratamiento a la primera zona de tratamiento manteniendo de esa manera la concentración deseada de biosólidos aeróbicos y adsorbentes en polvo, dentro de la segunda zona de tratamiento i) añadir suficiente adsorbente en polvo a la segunda zona de tratamiento para compensar el adsorbente en polvo transferido a la primera zona de tratamiento en el paso (h) y (j) retirar una cantidad suficiente de licor anaeróbico mixto de la primera zona de tratamiento para controlar la concentracón de sólidos en ella.bb
