Description

The invention relates to agriculture, in particular to fruit growing, namely to a method of cultivating blackberries.

The blackberry, during the period of deep dormancy, withstands temperatures down to minus 12 degrees Celsius. In conditions of insufficient light, the shoots do not mature well and can freeze. The blackberry, as a rule, is trained in a fan shape. The annual stems are 2-5 m high, bend under the weight of the fruit and require artificial supports from the second year after planting. Regardless of the forms of training, they are all based on the principle of separating the fruiting stems from the replacement ones. The type of artificial supports determines the training system of the plants.

The process of training blackberry plants is known, which precedes the training of the shoots and the vines in an oblique position in both directions, fixing them one by one to the trellis wires. Three wires are used at a height of 0.6 m, 1.1 m and 1.7 m, fixed on 1.8 m high posts, placed every 10 m. The shoots are trained in a vertical position, palisade with wide ties. When the growths exceed the last wire, they are trained along it in a southerly direction [1].

The disadvantages of this system of training blackberry plants are that in order to train the shoots, emitted from the bundle area and the shoots, grown from adventitious buds on the roots, in a vertical position, it is necessary to tie each shoot and shoot separately. To protect the plants over the winter, it is necessary to untie the annual stems so that they can be laid on the ground and covered with snow, which requires a lot of labor.

It is also known to train blackberry plants on trellises with iron, stainless steel or reinforced concrete posts, placed from 5 m to 10 m in a row, with a traditional height of about 2.0-2.50 m, well anchored in the ground at each end. In places where the danger of winter frost persists, the support system is also applied, which is mounted in such a way that it can be laid on the ground with the plants and covered with straw or foil [2].

The disadvantages of this system of managing blackberry plants are that the construction of iron or stainless steel poles and the plant support system is very expensive and difficult to maintain. This system can be used on demonstration plots.

The problem solved by the proposed invention consists in developing a method for directing blackberry shoots and shoots, which ensures the rational distribution of newly formed stems in space, the protection of stems from frost during winter and a higher yield in plantation maintenance and fruit harvesting.

The essence of the proposed invention consists in guiding the vines and shoots in a vertical position by means of a string stretched and tied parallel to the trellis, along the wire from post to post, until late autumn, when the leafless branches are left to fall freely to the ground. The string is tied to the posts, when the vines and shoots reach a height of 120-150 cm, they being guided between the wire and the string.

Basically, tying this string ensures the separation of the fruiting stems from the replacement ones, the proper distribution and stability of the shoots and shoots for next year's harvest. The plants are better lit, ventilated, and maintenance and harvesting work are much easier.

The worker can perform an effective treatment by directing the shoots and shoots between the wire and the string, by cutting the stems that have fruited and those that have been frostbitten during the winter, as well as by trellising the fan-shaped stems on the trellis.

The technical result of the invention consists in maintaining blackberry plants in physiological balance of growth and fruiting, increasing productivity in plantation maintenance and reducing production costs.

Exemplu de realizare a invenţiei Example of embodiment of the invention

Blackberry plants are trained on a simple trellis with 2 fan-shaped wires (fig. 1). Stretching and tying a string along the wire from post to post is very important, because in creeping varieties, with thin and flexible stems, the stems and shoots bend and are damaged by the equipment provided.

2). The string is stretched when the vines and shoots reach a height of 120-150 cm, tied to the posts and the trellis wire using plastic, rubber fasteners, clips, etc. The vines and shoots are guided between the wire and string and left free to develop (fig. 2).

Immediately after harvesting, as a rule, the branches that have borne fruit are removed from the base (fig. 3) with their removal from the plantation and mandatory incineration (biennial branches after fruiting are infected with several diseases and present a focus of infection for the next harvest).

In late autumn, the twine fasteners are removed from the trellis wire, the twine is untied from the posts, tightened, and the stems are allowed to fall freely to the ground (fig. 4). It is best if, during the winter, the newly formed stems remain on the ground, where they are covered with snow. This way, in the spring, the grower has the opportunity to remove all damaged stems and leave only the most productive ones for fruiting. The fruiting stems are spread evenly on the trellis in a fan shape.

Experience has shown that it is not advisable to tie the newly formed shoots and shoots individually to the wire, nor to change their position. It is also not good to leave the stems free to straighten between the rows, where they are mechanically damaged or trampled.
