Abstract

플랫-패널 화상 표시장치(1)는 표시될 화상에 따라 패널안에 결속되는 편광된 광의 편광 상태를 조절하기 위한 화상 표시 패널(3)을 포함한다. 상기 광은 화상 표시 패널(3)와 일체된 또는 일체되지 않은 반사 편광자(31)에 의해 편광된다. 상기 화상 표시 패널(3)의적어도 일부는 특히 조절하기에 적합하지 않은 편광 상태를 갖는 빔소자에 대한 광학 도파관으로 기능한다. 분석기(27)는 화상 표시 패널(3)의 제1면(25)에 위치한다. 반사 편광자(31) 형상의 편광 수단은 화상 표시 패널(3)의 제2면(29)에 위치하며, 이 면은 제1면(25)에 대향 위치한다. 광지시 시스템(33)은 화상 표시 패널(3)로부터 이격된 편광자(35)의 표면에 위치하며, 상기 시스템은 여전히 예정 편광 상태를 갖는 광으로 전환될 수 있도록 상 형성에 기여하지 않고 상기 면(35)에서 화상 표시 패널(3)을 이탈하는 광을 다시 화상 표시 패널(3)로 전송시키기 위해 사용된다.

Claims (13)

  1. 결합된 광을 광학 도파관내에서 편광시키기 위한 집적 편광 수단과 함께 제공되는 광학 도파관을포함하며, 표시될 화상 정보에 따라 광학 도파관에 의해 편광된 광의 편광 상태를 조절하기 위한 화상 표시 패널 및 화상 표시 패널의 제1면에 위치하는 분석기를 부가로 포함하는 플랫-패널 화상 표시장치에 있어서, 상기 화상 표시 패널의 적어도 일부는 광학 도파관인 것과, 상기 편광 수단은 제1면에 대향 위치된 화상 표시 패널의 제2면에 위치된 반사 편광자에 의해 구성되는 것과, 광지시 시스템은 화상 표시 패널로부터 이격된 반사 편광자의 표면에 위치하는 것을 특징으로 하는 플랫-패널 화상 표시장치.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 광지시 시스템은 편광 지속 효과를 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 플랫-패널 화상 표시장치
  3. 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 상기 광지시 시스템은 반사 편광자의 평면과 각(θ)을 이루는 다수의 반사면을 포함하는 반사 구조체에 의해 구성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 플랫-패널 화상 표시장치.
  4. 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 상기 광지시 시스템은 확산기 및 반사기를 포함하며, 상기 확산기는 반사편광자와 반사기 사이에 위치되는 것을 특징으로 하는 플랫-패널 화상 표시장치.
  5. 제1항, 제2항, 제3항 또는 제4항에 있어서, 상기 반사 편광자는 콜레스테릭 편광자인 것을 특징으로 하는 플랫-패널 화상 표시장치.
  6. 제5항에 있어서, 상기 콜레스테릭 편광자는 분자 나선의 피치가 전체 가시화 가능한 파장 범위를 커버하도록 요구되는 반사 띠의 하부 범위 및 상부 범위에 대응하는 2개의 값 사이를 연속적으로 변화하는 단일 액정중합체 물질층으로 수행되는 것을 특징으로 하는 플랫-패널 화상 표시장치.
  7. 제5항 또는 제6항에 있어서, 상기 화상 표시 장치는플레이트를 포함하며, 여기서 n은 홀수 정수인 것을 특징으로 하는 플랫-패널 화상 표시장치.
  8. 제7항에 있어서, 상기플레이트는 콜레스테릭 편광자와 화상 표시 패널 사이에 위치하는 것을 특징으로 하는 플랫-패널 화상 표시장치.
  9. 제7항에 있어서, 상기플레이트는 콜레스테릭 편광자를 위한 기판으로 가능하는 것을 특징으로 하는 플랫-패널 화상 표시장치.
  10. 제1항, 제2항, 제3항 또는 제4항에 있어서, 사이 반사 편광자는 다수의 층, 적어도 다수의 2중 굴절 물질을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 플랫-패널 화상 표시장치.
  11. 제1항 내지 제10항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 탈편광 반사기는 광원으로부터 이격된 적어도 한 측면상에 배열되는 것을 특징으로 하는 플랫-패널 화상 표시장치.
  12. 제4항 내지 제11항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 확산기는 반사 편광자의 표면에 제공된 광-확산 구조체인 것을 특징으로 하는 플랫-패널 화상 표시장치.
  13. 제12항에 있어서, 상기 구조체는 불연속 확산 영역 패턴에 의해 구성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 플랫-패널 화상 표시장치.
