Abstract

평광막 및 액정층을 갖고 전압이 인가되지 않을 때 흑색 색조를 표시하고, 상기 액정층과 상기 편광막 사이에 배치되고 상기 액정층내의 액정의 트위스트 방향과 반대인 트위스트 방향을 갖는 광학구조를 갖는 보상막을 구비하고; 상기 액정 층내의 픽셀은 다수의 영역으로 분할되는 액정 표시 장치가 개시된다.

Claims (16)

  1. 적어도 평광막 및 액정층을 포함하고 전압이 인가되지 않을 때 흑색 색조를 표시하는 액정 표시 장치에 있어서, 상기 액정층과 상기 편광막 사이에 배치되고 상기 액정층내의 액정의 트위스트 방향과 반대인 트위스트 방향을 갖는 광학구조를 갖는 보상막을 포함하고; 상기 액정층 내의 화소는 다수의 영역으로 분할되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 액정층은 양의 굴절율 이방성을 갖고 상기 보상막은 음의 굴절율 이방성을 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
  3. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 다수의 영역은 상기 전압이 인가될 때 액정 분자의 서로 다른 입상(rising) 방향을 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
  4. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 다수의 영역은 상기 전압이 인가될 때 액정 분자의 서로 다른 입상 방향을 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
  5. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 다수의 영역은 서로 다른 전압이 인가되는 영역을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
  6. 제2에 있어서, 상기 다수의 영역은 서로 다른 전압이 인가되는 영역을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
  7. 제3에 있어서, 상기 다수의 영역은 서로 다른 전압이 인가되는 영역을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
  8. 제4에 있어서, 상기 다수의 영역은 서로 다른 전압이 인가되는 영역을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
  9. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 화소는 4개 영역으로 분할되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
  10. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 화소는 4개 영역으로 분할되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
  11. 제3항에 있어서, 상기 화소는 4개 영역으로 분할되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
  12. 제4항에 있어서, 상기 화소는 4개 영역으로 분할되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
  13. 제5항에 있어서, 상기 화소는 4개 영역으로 분할되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
  14. 제6항에 있어서, 상기 화소는 4개 영역으로 분할되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
