Abstract

본 발명에는 액정표시소자의 배향재료로서 이용되는 불소 함유 폴리-1,4-페닐렌비닐렌 선중합체 및 열처리에 의해 이것으로부터 전환된 불소 함유 폴리-1,4-페닐렌비닐렌을 배향막재료로서 포함하는 액정표시소자가 개시되어 있으며, 이러한 액정표시소자에 따르면 균일한 배향 및 높은 프리틸트 각도가 실현된다.

제2도는 액정분자와 배향표면(기판)과의 방위관계를 나타내는 도면이다.

Claims (4)

  1. 액정표시소자의 배향막으로 사용시 열에 의해 불소 함유 폴리-1,4-페닐렌비닐렌으로 전환되는, 하기 일반식 (I)로 표시되는 유기 고분자의 술포늄 선중합체 (precursor polymer).
    여기에서, R1, R2및 R3는 서로 독립적으로 H 또는 F이고, X는 Br 또는 Cl 이며, n은 100 이상의 정수이다.
  2. 상하 한쌍의 기판, 각 기판 상부에 형성된 투명전극, 각 투명전극의 상부에 형성된 배향막, 배향막 사이에주입된 액정을 구비하는 액정표시소자에 있어서, 상기 배향막이 하기 일반식 (II)로 표시되는 불소 함유 폴리-1,4-페닐렌비닐렌을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시소자.
    여기에서, R1, R2및 R3는 서로 독립적으로 H 또는 F이고, n은 100 이상의 정수이다.
  3. 제2항에 있어서, 불소 함유 폴리-1,4-페닐렌비닐렌은 대응하는 불소 함유 폴리-1,4-페닐렌비닐렌 선중합체가 액정표시소자의 제조과정중 열에 의해 전환된 것임을 특징으로 하는 액정표시소자.
  4. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 액정표시소자의 액정의 프리틸트 각도의 범위가 5 - 20°인 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시소자.
