Abstract

액정표시소자의 단차의 제로(zero)화 실현에 관한 기술인 본 발명은 액정구동용 전극패턴과 패턴 사이에 경제성이 우수하고 공정 안정화 재료인 카본블랙(carbon black)용액을 매입하여 전극과 배향막을 평활화 시켜 단차를 최소화시킴으로써, 액정표시소자가 최대의 연구과제 중의 하나로 삼고 있는 고해상도 및 표시의 고품위화에 매우 유용하게 적용될 수 있다.

평활막을 구비한 액정표시소자 및 그 형성방법
본 내용은 요부공개 건이므로 전문내용을 수록하지 않았음
제1도는 종래 액정표시소자를 도시한 단면도,
제2도는 제1도의 전면판을 부분적으로 확대 도시한 일단면도,
제3도는 본 발명에 의한 평활막을 구비한 액정표시소자를 도시한 단면도,
제4(A)~(D)도는 본 발명에 따른 액정표시소자의 평활막 형성방법을 순차적으로 도시한 공정 단면도이다.

Claims (5)

  1. 전면판 및 배면판이 실링재에 의해 접착되어 액정이 주입되는 소정의 폐쇄공간을 형성하는 액정표시소자의 제조방법에 있어서, 상기 전면판의 내면에 소정 패턴의 전극군을 형성하는 공정, 상기 전극군의 패턴을 마스크로 이용하여 전면판을 에칭하여 소정 깊이의 트렌치를 형성하는 공정, 상기 트렌치된 전면판 상부에 상기 전극군의 패턴과 대략 동등한 높이로 평활막을 매입시키는 공정, 및 상기 평활막과 전극패턴 상부에 절연층과 배향막을 각각 형성하는 공정으로 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시소자의 평활막 형성방법.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 평활막은 경제성이 우수하고 공정 안정화 재료인 카본 블랙(carbon balck)용액으로 이루어짐을 특징으로 하는 액정표시소자의 평활막 형성방법.
  3. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 트렌치 깊이는 6000~10000 Å인 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시소자의 평활막 형성 방법.
  4. 서로 대향되는 전면판 및 배면판의 내면에 소정 패턴의 전극군, 절연층 및 배향막이 순차적으로 적층 형성된 액정표시소자에 있어서, 상기 전극 패턴이 형성되지 않은 전면판이 소정 깊이의 트렌치를 구비하며, 상기 전극패턴에 따라 트렌치된 전면판 상부에는 상기 전극패턴과 대략 동등한 높이로 평활막이 형성된 것을 특징으로 하는 평활막을 구비한 액정표시소자.
  5. 제4항에 있어서, 상기 평활막의 재료는 카본 블랙(carbon black)용액으로 이루어진 것을 특징으로 하는 평활막을 구비한 액정표시소자.
