Abstract

한 실시예에서 제거가능한 디스크 드라이브를 위한 도킹모듈은 표준 절반 높이 격실내에서 2개의 디스크 드라이브를 위한 공간을 제공하고 있다. 도킹 모듈은 디스크 드라이브의 양호한 교환성과 함께 캠 삽입과 제거를 제공하고 있다. 대안적인 실시예는 절반 높이 격실당 2개의 드라이브의 조밀도로 10 또는 그 이상의 디스크 드라이브를 제공하고 있다.

제3도(A)와 제3도 (B)는 제1도와 제2도의 도킹모듈의 평면도이고, 특히 오픈과 폐쇄 위치의도어와 슬라이드간의 관계를 나타낸 도면.

Claims (3)

  1. 제거가능한 디스크 드라이브를 수용하도록 구성된 각각의 슬롯인다수의 슬롯을 갖춘 하우징 구성부(housing member)와 레버암(lever arm)으로서 기능하도록 구성되고 하우징(housing)내에서 회전되도록 탑재된 도어, 이 도어의 회전이 적어도 슬라이드의 한 부분이 하우징내에서 앞뒤로 움직이도록 하기 위해 도어에 연결되고 하우징내에 탑재된 슬라이드, 호스트에 대해 제거가능한 디스크를 전기적으로 접속하기 위한 접속수단 및,도어가 폐쇄될 때 접속수단내로 디스크 드라이브를 작용시키고 도어가 개방될 때 접소수단으로부터 디스크 드라이브를 작용시키기 위한 연동수단(engagement meass)을 구비하여 구성된 것을 특징으로 하는 제거가능한 디스크 드라이브의 사용을 위한 도킹도뮬.
  2. 버스에 3상태 조건(tri-state condition)을 확립하고 디스크 드라이브의 삽입을 검출하며 디스크 드라이브에 전원을 공급하고, 디스크 드라이브에 버스를 접속함으로써 3상태 조건을 제거하는 수단을 구비하여 구성된 것을 특징으로 하는 디스크 드라이브의 양호환 교환상을 제공하기 위한 방법.
  3. 명목상의 4인치의 폭과, 명목상의 5.75인치의 깊이와 명목상의 1/2인치의 높이를 갖춘 드라이브를 각각 내부적으로 수용할 수 있는 적어도 2개의 슬롯을 갖춘 하우징과, 제거가능한 디스크 드라이브의 삽입을 위한 적어도 2개의 도어 및, 호스트 시스템에 디스크 드라이브를 접속하기 위한 접속수단을 구비하여 구성된 것을 특징으로 하는 제거가능한 디스크 드라이브의 사용을 위한 도킹도뮬.
