Abstract

본 발명은 액정표시장치에 관한 것으로 블랙 매트릭스의 단차를 제거하고 이로 인해 공통전극의 저항을 개선하기 위한 것이다.
종래에는 투명기판에 단차를 갖는 블랙 매트릭스(2)를 형성하고 그 위에 칼라필터층(3), 오버코트층(4), 공통전극(5)을 형성하였다.
따라서 블랙 매트릭스의 단차가 발생하고, 블랙 매트릭스를 식각 공정에 의해 형성하므로 칼라필터층보다 먼저 형성해야 하는 공정에 제약을 받았다.
본 발명은 투명전극(1)위에 양극 산화 가능한 금속을 증착하고 화소 부분의 금속을 양극 산화하여 투명 절연체를 만들어 나머지 부분이 블랙 매트릭스가 된 것으로, 칼라 필터층을 먼저 형성하고 그 위에 블랙 매트릭스를 형성하며 오버코트층이 없어 바로 공통전극을 형성할수 있어 매트릭스 단차를 제거하고 공통 전극의 저항을 개선할수 있다.

Claims (4)

  1. 스위칭 소자 및 화소전극(13)이 형성된 제 1 투명기판(1a)과 블랙 매트릭스, 칼라필터층 및 공통전극이 형성된 제 2 투명기판(1)사이에 액정이 주입된 액정 표시장치 제조방법에 있어서, 제 2 투명기판(1)에 양극 산화가 가능한 금속을 증착하는 공정과, 화소부분의 양극 산화 가능한 금속을 양극 산화시켜 투명 절연체(14)를 형성하는 공정을 포함하여 이루어짐을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치 제조방법.
  2. 제 1 항에 있어서, 투명유리기판 위에 블랙 매트릭스를 형성한 다음, 상기 블랙 매트릭스층 위에 칼라필터층(3)을 형성하는 공정으로 더 포함함을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치 제조방법.
  3. 제 1 항에 있어서, 제 2 투명기판(1)에 R,G,B 칼라필터층(3)을 먼저 형성하고 칼라필터층(3)위에 양극 산화가 가능한 금속을 증착하고 화소부분의 금속을 양극하여 투명절연체(14)와 블랙 매트릭스(2)를 형성함을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치 제조방법.
  4. 제 1 항에 있어서, 양극 산화 가능한 물질은 Ta, Al, MoTa중의 하나를 선택하여 형성함을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치 제조방법.
