Abstract

VCR(200)은 케이블 컨버터 유닛(210)을 제어하는 장치를 포함한다. 양호한 실시예에서, VCR로부터 케이블 컨버터 유닛으로의 전송에는 적외선(IR) 전송 명령이 이용된다. LED 어셈블리(214,225)는 소정 방위에서 LED를 유지하고 포트를 통하여 IR 신호의 상이한 양이 전송되는 제1 및 제2 IR 포트를 제공한다.

Claims (9)

  1. 일단의 RF 신호들을 수신하는 무선 주파수(RF)신호 입력 단자(RF IN)와, 상기 일단의 RF 신호들을 수신하는 상기 RF 신호 입력단자에 결합되고, 제어 신호에 응답하여 상기 일단의 RF 신호들로부터 특정 RF 신호를 선택하며, 소정의 채널 번호로 튜닝할 수 있는 튜너 수단(102,104)과, 상기 제어 신호를 발생시켜 상기 튜너 수단이 상기 특정 RF 신호를 선택하도록 하는 제어 수단(110)과, 상기 제어 수단에 결합되어, 사용자의 조작에 응답하여 데이타를 인입하는 수단(120,122,125)과, 상기 제어 수단에 결합되어 상기 특정 RF 신호의 외부 소오스를 제어하기 위한 원격 제어 신호를 전송하는 수단(100)을 포함하고, 상기 제어수단은 상기 사용자에 의해 인입된 데이타에 응답하여 상기 원격 제어 신호를 발생시키고, 상기 원격 제어 신호를 상기 원격 제어 신호 전송 수단에 인가하는 비디오 카세트 레코더에 있어서, 상기 전송 수단은 제1포트(230a) 및 제2포트(230b)를 갖고, 상기 제1포트를 통하여 전송된 상기 원격 제어 신호들은 상기 제2포트를 통하여 전송된 상기 원격 제어 신호들 보다 더 큰 전력 레벨로 전송되는 것을 특징으로 하는 비디오 카세트 레코더.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 전송 수단 IR LED 어셈블리이고, 상기 원격 제어 신호는 IR 신호인 것을 특징으로 하는 비디오 카세트 레코더.
  3. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 IR LED 어셈블리는 복수의 LED를 포함하고, 상기 복수의 LED는 그들 각각의 IR 신호를 상기 제2포트 보다는 상기 제1포트를 통하여 전송하는 것을 특징으로 하는 비디오 카세트 레코더.
  4. 제3항에 있어서, 상기 IR LED 어셈블리(214,225)는 불변 방향으로 IR광을 통과시키기 위한 제1포트와 상기 제1포트로부터 방출하는 광으로서 광을 반대방향으로 방향 바꾸기 위한 제2포트를 갖는 윈도우를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 비디오 카세트 레코더.
  5. 제4항에 있어서, 상기 IR LED 어셈블리의 상기 제2포트는 상기 제1포트로 부터 방출하는 광으로서 IR광을 반대 방향으로 방향 바꾸기 위한 톱니 모양을 갖는 표면을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 비디오 카세트 레코더.
  6. 제4항에 있어서, 상기 IR LED 어셈블리의 상기 제2포트는 상기 제1포트로 부터 방출하는 광으로서 IR광을 반대 방향으로 방향 바꾸기 위한 반사 수단을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 비디오 카세트 레코더.
  7. 제4항에 있어서, 상기 IR LED 어셈블리의 상기 제2포트는 상기 제1포트로 부터 방출하는 광으로서 IR광을 반대 방향으로 조사하기 위한 LED를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 비디오 카세트 레코더.
  8. 제4항에 있어서, 상기 IR LED 어셈블리의 소정 방위로 복수의 LED를 홀딩하기 위한 LED 장착 유닛(225)을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 비디오 카세트 레코더.
  9. 제8항에 있어서, 상기 소정 방위의 상기 LED는 IR광을 상향으로 조사하도록 장착된 하나의 LED와 상기 VCR의 봉합체에 대하여 전방으로 IR광을 조사하도록 두개의 LED를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 비디오 카세트 레코더.
