Claims (9)

  1. 세로축(longitudinal axis)을 가지며 적어도 하나의 통신 매체를 구비한 코어, 플라스틱 물질로 이루어지며 상기 코어를 둘러싸는 재킷으로 구성되는 통신 케이블에 있어서, 상기 케이블이 방수 시스템이 상기 코어 및 상기 재킷사이에 배치되어 있고 상기 방수 시스템은 각각 케이블을 따라 세로로 물의 흐름을 막는데 효과적인 방수 물질의 적어도 두개의 동심의 인접층 및, 상기 방수 시스템의 각각의 두개의 인접층 사이에 삽입된 비교적 유연한(relatively supple) 강도 부재 시스템으로 구성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 통신 케이블.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 비교적 유연한 강도 부재 시스템이 비교적 높은 계수(modulus)를 갖는 섬유 물질을 포함하는 케이블.
  3. 제1항에 있어서, 각 상기 물흡수성(waterabsorbent)층이 강력 흡수성 분말이 그 사이에 배치된 두개의 세로로 뻗은 테이프로 구성된 라미네이트(laminate)인 케이블.
  4. 제1항에 있어서, 각 상기 물 흡수성층이 강력 흡수성 물질이 주입된 기층물질(substrate material)을 구비한 케이블.
  5. 제4항에 있어서, 상기 강력 흡수성 물질이 (1) 폴리아크릴산, (2) 폴리아클리 아미드, (3) (1) 및 (2)이 혼합물, (4) (1) 및 (2)의 염(salt) 및 (5) (1) 및 (2)의 코폴리머(copolymer)로 이루어진 그룹으로부터 선택되는 케이블.
  6. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 방수 시스템의 적어도 하나의 상기 층이 강력 흡수성 물질의 외부충(outer layer) 및 아크릴 섬유(scrylic fiber)의 층을 포함하는 케이블.
  7. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 코어는 중심에 배치된 세로로 뻗은 방수 부재를 포함하는 케이블.
  8. 제7항에 있어서, 상기 코어는 상기 중심에 배치된 강도 부재와 상기 방수 시스템의 상기 층의 가장 내부의 것 사이에 배치된 복수개의 광섬유 유닛을 구비한 케이블.
  9. 제8항에 있어서, 각각 섬유 물질로 만들어지고 두개의 인접 광섬유 유닛과 상기 방수 시스템의 상기층의 가장 내부의 것 사이에 배치된 복수개의 세로로 뻗은 부재를 또한 포함하는 케이블.
