제 1 도는 본 발명의 일실시예에 따른 컴퓨터 시스템의 구성을 나타내는 블록회로 다이어그램.
제 2 도는 제 1 도에 도시된 자동 표시 제어기에 대한 구성의 예를 나타내는 블록회로 다이어그램.
제 4 도는 본 발명의 동작을 나타내는 플오루 챠트.

Claims (7)

  1. 내장 표시제어기 및 적어도 하나의 선택 표시 제어기가 접속되는 컴퓨터 시스템에 있어서, 서사용자가 사용을 위해 하나의 내장 표시 제어기 및 선택 표시제어기를 지정하는 입력수단과 ; 상기 입력수단을 통하여 설정된 지정 제어기를 검사하여 선택된 하나의 내장 표시 제어기 및 선택 표시 제어기에 따라 시스템을 작동시키는 제어수단을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 컴퓨터 시스템.
  2. 제 1 항에 있어서, 소정 형태의 표시 제어기를 식별하는 ID가 기입된 ROM을 포함하는 내장 표시제어 수단과 ; 컴퓨터 시스템에 접속되는 선택 표시 제어수단과 ; 컴퓨터 시스템의 준비 정보를 내장하는 메모리 수단을 추가로 구비하여 ; 상기 입력수단을 하나의 내장 표시 제어수단 및 선택 표시 제어수단을 선택하는 스위치 수단을 포함하고, 상기 제어수단을 시스템 BIOS를 내장하는 메모리 수단을 포함하며 ; 상기 시스템 BIOS는 내장 표시 제어수단의 ID를 판독하는 수단과 ; ID가 판독가능할 때 선택된 내장 표시 제어수단에 따라 컴퓨터 시스템을 작동시키는 수단과 ; ID가 판독되지 않을 때 CGA모드를 사용해서 내장 표시 제어 수단을 작동시켜서 선택 표시 제어수단의 형태를 식별하는 수단과 ; 선택 표시 제어수단의 형태를 표시하는 정보와 준비정보를 비교하는 수단과 ; 비교의 결과 일치가 검출될 때 선택된 선택 표시 제어수단에 따라 컴퓨터 시스템을 작동시키는 수단과 ; 비교의 결과 일치가 검출되지 않을 때 준비 프로그램을 실행하여 사용자가 지정한 표시 제어수단의 형태에 따라 시스템을 작동시키는 수단을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 컴퓨터 시스템.
  3. 제 2 항에 있어서, 상기 선택 표시 제어수단은 컴퓨터 시스템의 내부에 위치설정 되는 것을 특징으로 하는 컴퓨터 시스템.
  4. 제 2 항에 있어서, 상기 선택 표시 제어수단은 컴퓨터 시스템의 외부에 위치설정 되는 것을 특징으로 하는 컴퓨터 시스템.
  5. 제어기의 형태를 식별하는 ID정보를 내장하는 ROM을 가진 내장 표시 제어기와 ; 컴퓨터 시스템에 접속되는 비디오 RAM을 가진 선택 표시 제어기와 ; 시스템의 특성과 사용자가 설정한 동작 정보에 따라 입 출력을 제어하는 BIOS를 실행하기 위한 처리수단을 포함하는 컴퓨터 시스템에 있어서, 시스템이 작동될 때 내장 표시 제어기의 ROM에 내장된 ID정보를 판독하여 선택된 내장 표시 제어기에 따라 시스템을 작동시키는 수단과 ; 선택 표시 제어기의 비디오 RAM을 검사하여 lD가 판독 되지 않을 때 선택 표시 제어기의 형태를 식별하는 수단과 ; (1) 선택 표시 제어기의 형태를 표시하는 정보를 사용자가 설정한 정보와 비교하고, (2) 비교의 결과 일치가 검출될 때 선택 표시 제어기에 따라 시스템을 작동시키며, (3) 비교의 결과 일치가 검출되지 않을 때 정보를 새롭게 설정하여 새롭게 설정된 정보에 따라 시스템을 작동시키는 수단을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 컴퓨터 시스템.
  6. 제 5 항에 있어서, 상기 선택 표시 제어기를 컴퓨터 시스템의 내부에 위치 설정되는 것을 특징으로 하는 컴퓨터 시스템.
  7. 제 5 항에 있어서, 상기 선택 표시 제어기를 컴퓨터 시스템의 외부에 위치 설정되는 것을 특징으로 하는 컴퓨터 시스템.
