Claims (12)

  1. 서로 교차하는 데이타 전극 또는 컬럼 전극의 패턴과 주사전극 또는 라인전극의 패턴을 가지는 칼라 표시하는 표시장치로서, 여기서 화상을 표시하도록 행렬을 구성하는 화상셀은 라인과 컬럼전극의 교차영역에서 전기광학 매체로 형성되는 표시장치에 있어서,
    최소한 2개의 화상셀의 인접 행이 N칼라 요소의 행을 구성하고 표시장치는 주파수에서 표시될 길이 t0를 가지는 입력신호를 샘플링하며, 샘플된 신호를 표시주기 t1동안 컬럼 또는 데이타 전극에 인가되는 2개의 서브-샘플 신호로 변환하는 변환회로를 포함하고, 이때 하나의 서브-샘플 신호는 화상셀의 행에 관련된 라인전극의 구동 동안 컬럼 전극에 인가되며, 그 라인 전극은 최대 1/2t1주기에서 여기되는 것을 특징으로 하는 칼라 표시장치.
  2. 제1항에 있어서,
    화상셀의 2개의 병렬된 행이 한 화상 라인만을 표시하도록 각 시간에 사용되는 것을 특징으로 하는 칼라 표시장치.
  3. 제1항에 있어서,
    화상셀의 행이 다른 화상라인을 표시하도록 사용되는 것을 특징으로 하는 칼라 표시장치.
  4. 제3항에 있어서,
    입력신호는 기수 화상 라인의 제1라스터와 우수 화상라인의 제2라스터로 분주되며, 제1기수라스터의 서브샘플은 연속되는 라인 전극의 구동 동안 컬러전극에 존재하여 제1라인 전극으로 시작되고, 제2우수라스터의 서브 샘플신호는 연속되는 라인 전극의 구동 동안 제2라인전극으로 시작하여 컬럼전극에 존재하는 것을 특징으로 하는 칼라 표시장치.
  5. 제1, 2, 3 또는 4항에 있어서,
    N칼라 요소의 한 행내의 칼라요소가 인접하지만 중복되지 않고, 2개의 연속 라스터로부터의 서브 샘플은 라인전극으로 통과되어 다른 라스터로부터 발생하는 칼라요소가 칼라요소 패턴의 주기의 반에 걸쳐서 서로 이동되는 것을 특징으로 하는 칼라 표시장치.
  6. 제1, 2, 3 또는 4항에 있어서,
    N칼라 요소의 행내의 칼라요소가 최소한 부분적으로 서로 중첩되고, 연속되는 라스터가 칼라 요소행내의 칼라요소의 상호위치에 따라 서브 샘플신호에 대하여 샘플되는 방법으로 라인 전극상에서 통과되는 2개의 연속 라스터로부터 서브-샘플이 얻어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 칼라 표시장치.
  7. 제1, 2, 3또는 4항에 있어서,
    화상셀이 정다각형 형태를 가지는 것을 특징으로 하는 칼라 표시장치.
  8. 제1, 2, 3 또는 4항에 있어서,
    전기 광학 매체가 액정인 것을 특징으로 하는 칼라 표시장치.
  9. 제1, 2, 3 또는 4항에 있어서,
    전기 광학 매체가 전기 영동 현탁액인 것을 특징으로 하는 칼라 표시장치.
  10. 제1, 2, 3 또는 4항에 있어서,
    전기 광학 매체가 일렉트로크롬 물질인 것을 특징으로 하는 칼라 표시장치.
  11. 제1, 2, 3 또는 4항에 있어서,
    화상셀이 능동 회로 소자에 의해 구동되는 것을 특징으로 하는 칼라 표시장치.
  12. 제11항에 있어서,
    상기 장치가 박막 IGFET 트랜지스터를 포함하며 그의 소스영역은 라인전극에 접속되고, 게이트 전극은 컬럼 전극에 접속되고 드레인 영역은 전기 전도방법에 의해 표시 요소에 접속되는 것을 특징으로 하는 칼라 표시장치.
