Claims (10)

  1. (A) 70내지 120℃의 온도에서 스티렌의 음이온 중합에 적합한 반응대역을 가지며, 반응매질이 충분히 혼합되고 반응대역의 상부 말단과 하부 말단 사이에의 전방향으로 이동될 수 있는 격렬하게 혼합이 행해지는 연속식 재순환 반응기 조립체를 사용하고, (B) 공중합의 개시를 위한 스티렌에 가용성인 유효량의 유기금속 음이온 촉매를 사용하며, (C) 생성되는 공중합체중 공중합전(IA)의 함량이 10 내지 50중량%가 되는데 적합한 비율로 일반식(IA)와(IB)단량체들의 혼합물을 단량체 혼합물 : 용매의 비율이 1 : 8 내지 8 : 1인 단량체 혼합물의 용매중 용액으로서 반응대역에 공급시키며, (D) 반응대역중 반응매질을 일반적으로 균일조건으로 유지시키며, (E) 반응대역에 있어서의 반응매질중 미반응 일반식(IB) 단량체의 농도를 상기 반응매질에 첨가시킨 일반식(IB)단량체의 10중량 미만으로 유지시키며, (F) 반응대역에 있어서의 반응매질 중 완전 공중합이 행해진 공중합체의 농도를 30 내지 70중량% 범위로 유지시키며, (G) 반응기로부터 공중합체 용액을 유출액으로서 회수하고, 열안정성을 갖는 균일한 공중합체를 회수하는 공정들로 이루어짐을 특징으로 하는 일반식(IA)로 표시되는 공중합체에 대하여 10 내지 50중량%의 1종 이상의 단량체와 잔량의 일반식(IB)로 표시되는 1종 이상의 다른 단량체로 조성되는 α-메틸스티렌 공중합체의 제조방법.
    상기식들에 있어서, Ar는 탄소원자수 6 내지 10개를 갖는 방향족기이다.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 단량성 혼합물을 반응기내에 충만하여 이들에 공중합된 10 내지 40중량%의 1종 이상의 일반식(IA) 단량체를 함유하는 공중합체를 부여하는 방법.
  3. 제1항에 있어서, 일반식(IA) 단량체가 α-메틸스티렌인 방법.
  4. 제1항에 있어서, 일반식(IB) 단량체가 스티렌인 방법.
  5. 제1항에 있어서, 일반식(IB) 단량체가 p-이소프로페닐톨루엔인 방법.
  6. 제1항에 있어서, 단량체가 α-메틸스티렌과 스티렌인 방법.
  7. 제1항에 있어서, 개시제가 n-부틸리티윰인 방법.
  8. 제6항에 있어서, 에틸벤젠을 용매로써 사용하는 방법.
  9. 제6항에 있어서, 크실렌, 미시틸렌과 이들 혼합물을 용매로써 사용하는 방법.
  10. 제1항에 있어서, 과잉의 일반식(IA) 단량체를 용매로써 사용하는 방법.
