Abstract
Description
Claims (17)
- 디스플레이 장치(40)를 조명하기 위한 조명 시스템(10, 20, 30)으로서,출광 윈도우(52), 상기 출광 윈도우(52)에 대향 배치된 뒷벽(54), 및 상기 출광 윈도우(52)와 상기 뒷벽(54) 사이에 연장하는 에지 벽들(56, 58)을 포함하는 광 혼합 챔버(50) - 상기 뒷벽(54)의 표면(55)은, 상기 뒷벽의 표면에 충돌하고, 상기 뒷벽에 수직인 축에 대해 비교적 큰 입사각을 갖는 광을 거울처럼 반사하기 위해 실질적으로 거울처럼 반사적임 -;상기 광 혼합 챔버(50) 내로 광을 방출하기 위한 광원(60, 62) - 상기 광은 상기 출광 윈도우(52)와 실질적으로 평행인 방향으로 상기 광 혼합 챔버(50) 내로 방출됨 -;상기 광 혼합 챔버(50)로부터의 광을 아웃 커플링하기 위한 복수의 광 아웃 커플링(out-coupling) 요소(70, 72); 및상기 출광 윈도우(52)에 배열된 각도 반사 필터(angularly reflective filter)(80) - 상기 각도 반사 필터(80)는 복수의 실질적으로 투명한 층(81, 82, 83, 84)으로 구성되고, 각각의 층(81, 82, 83, 84)은 실질적으로 균일한 층 두께를 갖고, 굴절률(n1, n2)을 가지며, 2개의 인접하는 층(81, 82, 83, 84)의 각각의 세트는 상이한 굴절률들(n1, n2)을 가짐 -를 포함하는 조명 시스템(10, 20, 30).
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 뒷벽(54) 및 각각의 에지 벽(56, 58)의 표면들(55, 57, 59)은 상기 광 혼합 챔버(50) 내의 광을 거울처럼 반사하기 위해 거울처럼 반사적인 조명 시스템(10, 20, 30).
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 각각의 에지 벽(56, 58)의 표면들은 상기 광 혼합 챔버(50) 내의 광을 확산 반사하기 위해 확산 반사적인 조명 시스템(10, 20, 30).
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 광 혼합 챔버(50) 내로 방출되는 광은 소정 칼라(B)의 광을 포함하고, 2개의 인접하는 실질적으로 투명한 층(81, 82, 83, 84)의 두께의 합은 상기 소정 칼라(B)의 광의 파장의 절반과 실질적으로 동일한 조명 시스템(10, 20, 30).
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 투명 층들(81, 82, 83, 84) 중 적어도 하나는 상기 광 혼합 챔버(50)와 실질적으로 평행하게 배열된 복굴절 대칭축을 갖는 복굴절 단축(uniaxial) 층인 조명 시스템(10, 20, 30).
- 제1항 내지 제3항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 광 혼합 챔버(50) 내로 방출되는 광은 상기 광 혼합 챔버(50)와 실질적으로 평행한 편광 방향을 갖는 실질적으로 편광된 광인 조명 시스템(10, 20, 30).
- 제1항 내지 제3항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 광 혼합 챔버(50)는 광학 광 가이드(optical light guide)인 조명 시스템(10, 20, 30).
- 제7항에 있어서, 상기 광학 광 가이드는 쐐기 형상인 조명 시스템(10, 20, 30).
- 제1항 내지 제3항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 광원(60, 62)은 상기 광 혼합 챔버(50)의 뒷벽(54) 상에 분포된 복수의 측면 발광 발광 다이오드(60)를 포함하는 조명 시스템(10, 20, 30).
- 제1항 내지 제3항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 광 혼합 챔버(50)의 에지 벽들(56, 58) 중 적어도 하나는 입광 윈도우(90)를 포함하고, 상기 광원(60, 62)은 상기 입광 윈도우(90)를 통해 상기 광 혼합 챔버(50) 내로 광을 방출하는 에지 발광 구조(edge-lit configuration)로 배열되는 조명 시스템(10, 20, 30).
- 제1항 내지 제3항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 광 혼합 챔버(50)의 에지 벽들(56, 58) 중 적어도 하나는 입광 윈도우(90)를 포함하고, 상기 조명 시스템(10, 20, 30)은 추가적인 광 혼합 챔버(95)를 포함하고, 상기 추가적인 광 혼합 챔버(95)는 상기 입광 윈도우(90)를 통해 상기 광 혼합 챔버(50) 내로 광을 방출하는 조명 시스템(10, 20, 30).
- 제1항 내지 제3항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 출광 윈도우(52)에 실질적으로 수직인 평면에 대한 상기 광 혼합 챔버(50) 내로 방출되는 광의 각도 분포(64)는 약 30도보다, 바람직하게는 약 10도보다 작은 조명 시스템(10, 20, 30).
- 제1항 내지 제3항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 복수의 광 아웃 커플링 요소(70, 72)는 상기 뒷벽(54) 상에 실질적으로 균일하게 분포되는 조명 시스템(10, 20, 30).
- 제1항 내지 제3항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 광 혼합 챔버(50) 내의 복수의 광 아웃 커플링 요소(70, 72)의 밀도가 변하는 조명 시스템(10, 20, 30).
- 제1항 내지 제3항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 복수의 광 아웃 커플링 요소(70, 72)는 거울성 반사(specularly reflecting) 요소들(72)인 조명 시스템(10, 20, 30).
- 제1항 내지 제3항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 복수의 광 아웃 커플링 요소(70, 72)는 각도 반사 필터(80) 내에 배열되는 조명 시스템(10, 20, 30).
- 제1항 내지 제16항 중 어느 한 항의 조명 시스템(10, 20, 30)을 포함하는 디 스플레이 장치(40).
