Claims (21)
- 하나 이상의 구성층을 구비하는 전기 화학 소자용 외장재(case)에 있어서, 상기 외장재의 구성층을 이루는 구성성분, 코팅성분, 또는 구성성분 및 코팅성분으로서, 소자의 정상 작동 온도 범위보다 높은 온도(T)에서 산소 이외의 가스를 방출하는 발포제를 함유하는 것이 특징인 전기 화학 소자용 외장재.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 상기의 온도(T)는 소자의 정상 작동 온도보다 높고, 소자 내에 구비된 분리막의 수축이 발생하는 온도보다 낮은 온도 범위인 것이 특징인 외장재.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 상기의 온도(T)는 90 내지 150 ℃ 범위인 것이 특징인 외장재.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 상기의 가스는 N2, He, Ne, Ar, Kr, Xe, CO2, 및 수증기로 구성된 군으로부터 선택된 1종 이상의 비활성가스인 것이 특징인 외장재.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 발포제는 아조(azo, -N=N-) 계열 화합물 또는 퍼록사이드(peroxide) 계열 화합물인 것이 특징인 외장재.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 외장재를 구성하는 하나 이상의 구성층 표면의 일부 또는 전부에, 상기 발포제를 함유하는 코팅층이 형성되어 있고, 상기 코팅층은 바인더 고분자를 포함하는 것이 특징인 외장재.
- 제 8항에 있어서, 상기 발포제의 함량은 바인더 고분자 100중량부 대비 0.5 내 지 30 중량부인 것이 특징인 외장재.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 외장재의 구성층은 발포제에 의해 0.1 내지 30 mg/cm2 의 범위로 코팅된 것이 특징인 외장재.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 발포제는 전지의 정상 작동 온도 범위 이상의 온도(T)에서 산소 이외의 가스를 전지 내부로 방출함으로써, 산소와의 접촉을 차단하여 발화를 방지할 수 있는 것이 특징인 외장재.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 발포제는 소자의 정상 작동 온도 범위 이상의 온도(T)에서 소자 내부의 열을 흡수하여 분해됨으로써, 소자 내부의 온도 상승을 억제할 수 있는 것이 특징인 외장재.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 전기 화학 소자는 리튬 이차 전지인 것이 특징인 외장재.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 파우치 형태인 것이 특징인 외장재.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 외장재는 기재 층, 라미네이션 층(Lamination layer), 캐스트 층(Cast layer)으로 구성된 군에서 선택된 1종 이상의 구성층을 구비하는 것이 특징인 외장재.
- 제 1항 내지 제 15항 중 어느 한 항에 기재된 외장재를 사용한 전기 화학 소자.
- 제 16항에 있어서, 상기 전기 화학 소자는 (a)소자 내부의 압력변화 감지를 통해 소자의 충전을 중지시키거나 또는 충전상태를 방전상태로 전환시키는 제 1 안전수단, (b)소자 내부의 압력변화 감지를 통해 소자 내부의 열 또는 가스를 발산시키는 제 2 안전수단, 또는 상기의 제 1안전수단과 제 2안전수단 모두를 추가로 구비하는 것이 특징인 전기 화학 소자.
- 제 17항에 있어서, 상기 발포제는 소자의 정상 작동 온도 범위 이상의 온도(T)에서 산소 이외의 가스를 소자 내부로 방출하여 소자 내부의 압력을 증가시킴으로써, 소자 내부의 압력변화 감지를 통해 작동하는 제 1안전수단, 제 2안전수단, 또는 상기 제1안전수단과 제2안전수단이 모두 작동될 수 있는 것이 특징인 전기 화학 소자.
- 제 16항에 있어서, 상기 전기 화학 소자는 리튬 이차 전지인 것이 특징인 전기 화학 소자.
- (a) 발포제 및 바인더 고분자를 용매 또는 분산매에 첨가하여 발포제 함유 코팅 용액을 제조하는 단계; 및(b) 상기 외장재를 구성하는 하나 이상의 구성층 표면의 일부 또는 전부에 상기 용액을 코팅한 후 건조하는 단계;를 포함하여 제 1항 내지 제 15항 중 어느 한 항에 기재된 외장재를 제조하는 방법.
- 제 20항에 있어서, 상기 (b) 단계는 발포제 함유 코팅 용액에 외장재 구성층의 일부 또는 전부를 함침시키거나, 또는 발포제 함유 코팅 용액을 외장재를 구성하는 하나 이상의 구성층 표면의 일부 또는 전부에 노즐 분사하는 방법에 의해 코팅하는 것이 특징인 제조방법.
