Abstract
본 발명은 (1) 폴리부타디엔 성형품을 오존 처리, 전자선 처리, 코로나 방전 처리, 플라즈마 방전 처리, 자외선 레이저 처리 또는 화학 처리하여 상기 성형품 표면의 수접촉각을 감소시키는 공정, 및 (2) 수접촉각이 감소된 폴리부타디엔 성형품을 극성 수지 성형품과 접착시키는 공정을 포함하는, 폴리부타디엔 성형품의 접착 방법을 제공한다. 상기 방법은 폴리부타디엔 성형품과 극성 수지 성형품과의 접합 (접착)력을 향상시키고, 이들 성형품의 용제를 추가 사용 (조합)함으로써 접합력을 더욱 향상시킨다.

Description
본 발명은 폴리부타디엔 성형품의 접착 방법, 이로부터 얻어지는 폴리부타디엔 복합 성형품, 의료용 부재 및 수액 세트에 관한 것이다.
최근 들어 가소제를 사용하지 않는 PVC (염화비닐계 수지) 대체 재료로서 신디오탁틱 1,2-폴리부타디엔 (RB)으로 대표되는 폴리부타디엔이 주목받고 있고, 본 발명자들은 RB 튜브와 RB 커넥터를 접착한 의료용 부재 (특허문헌 1: 일본 특허 공개 제2004-321788호 공보) 등을 제안하였다.
그런데, 수액 세트는 튜브와 커넥터를 용제 접합 (접착)하여 상품화되어 있다. 지금까지 상기 수액 세트는 PVC 튜브/용제 (극성 용제)/극성 수지 커넥터로 상품화되어 있다. 그러나, 최근 들어 탈 PVC 움직임이 현저해져서 PVC 튜브 대신에 상기한 바와 같이 RB의 검토가 증가하고 있다. 그런데, RB는 극성이 부족하고, 용도에 따라서는 극성 용제/극성 수지로의 접합이 불충분한 경우가 있다.
특히, 일본이나 미국에서는 수액 세트를 이용하여 환자에게 점적할 때에 펌프를 이용하는 경우가 있고, 이 경우에는 수액 세트에 압력이 걸리기 때문에, 예를 들어 튜브와 커넥터와의 접합부로부터 액 누설이 발생할 우려가 있다.

본 발명은 폴리부타디엔 성형품과 극성 수지 성형품과의 접합 (접착)력을 향상시키고, 또한 이들 성형품의 용제를 추가 사용 (조합)함으로써 접합력을 더욱 향상시키는 것을 목적으로 한다.
본 발명은
(1) 폴리부타디엔 성형품의 표면의 수접촉각을 감소시키는 공정 (이하, "(1) 공정"이라고도 함), 및
(2) 상기 수접촉각이 감소된 폴리부타디엔 성형품을 극성 수지 성형품과 접착시키는 공정 (이하, "(2) 공정"이라고도 함)
을 포함하는, 폴리부타디엔 성형품의 접착 방법에 관한 것이다.
여기서, 상기 폴리부타디엔으로는 결정화도가 5% 이상인 신디오탁틱 1,2-폴리부타디엔이 바람직하다.
또한, 상기 (1) 공정으로는 오존 처리, 전자선 처리, 코로나 방전 처리, 플라즈마 방전 처리, 방사선 (X선, γ선, β선) 처리, 자외선 처리, 자외선 레이저 처리 및 화학 처리의 군에서 선택된 1종 이상을 들 수 있다.
상기 (1) 공정에 의해 얻어지는 수접촉각이 감소된 폴리부타디엔 성형품의 수접촉각 (CABR)은 80도 이하이다.
상기 극성 수지로는 폴리카르보네이트 수지, 폴리에스테르 수지, ABS 수지, 폴리스티렌 수지, 폴리우레탄 수지, 폴리아미드 수지, 폴리알킬아크릴레이트 수지, 폴리알킬메타크릴레이트 수지, 폴리아세트산비닐 수지, 폴리염화비닐 및 폴리염화비닐리덴 수지의 군에서 선택된 1종 이상을 들 수 있다.
상기 (1) 공정에 의해 얻어진 수접촉각이 감소된 폴리부타디엔 성형품의 수접촉각 (CABR)과 극성 수지 성형품의 수접촉각 (CAPR)의 차이 (ΔCA)는 +60도 내지 -15도이다.
상기 (2) 공정에서의 접착으로는 유기 용제에 의한 접착이 바람직하다.
상기 유기 용제로는 시클로헥사논, 테트라히드로푸란, 시클로헥산, 메틸에틸케톤, 아세톤 및 아세트산에틸의 군에서 선택된 1종 이상이 바람직하다.
상기 (2) 공정에서의 접착시에는 상기한 (1) 공정에 의해 얻어진 수접촉각이 감소된 폴리부타디엔 성형품 및 극성 수지 성형품을 미리 상기 유기 용제로 처리하는 것이 바람직하다.
또한, 본 발명은 상기 폴리부타디엔 성형품의 접착 방법에 의해 얻어지는 폴리부타디엔 복합 성형품에 관한 것이다.
또한, 본 발명은 적어도 상기 폴리부타디엔 복합 성형품을 포함하는 의료용 부재에 관한 것이다.
또한, 본 발명은 상기 의료용 부재를 구성 요소로 하는 수액 세트에 관한 것이다.
<발명의 효과>
본 발명에 따르면, 상기 폴리부타디엔 성형품의 표면에 극성기를 이식하거나 또는 조면화함으로써 폴리부타디엔 성형품 표면의 수접촉각을 감소시켜 극성 수지 성형품과의 접합 (접착)력을 향상시키고, 또한 이들 성형품의 용제를 추가 사용 (조합)함으로써 접합력을 더욱 향상시킬 수 있다.

폴리부타디엔
성형품
본 발명의 튜브 등의 폴리부타디엔 성형품을 구성하는 폴리부타디엔으로는, (A) 신디오탁틱 1,2-폴리부타디엔을 단독으로 사용하거나, 또는 (A) 신디오탁틱 1,2-폴리부타디엔 및 (B) 그 밖의 열가소성 중합체와의 조성물을 사용하는 것이 바람직하다. 상기 (A) 신디오탁틱 1,2-폴리부타디엔은 결정화도가 5% 이상, 바람직하게는 10 내지 40%의 결정성을 갖는 신디오탁틱 1,2-폴리부타디엔이고, 그 융점은 바람직하게는 50 내지 150℃, 더욱 바람직하게는 60 내지 140℃의 범위에 있다. 결정화도·융점이 상기한 범위에 있을 때, 인장 강도, 인열 강도 등의 역학 강도와 유연성의 균형이 우수하게 된다.
한편, 결정화도가 5 내지 25 질량% 정도까지인 신디오탁틱 1,2-폴리부타디엔 (이하, "저결정 RB"라고도 함)은 유연성이 우수하기 때문에 튜브 본체로 사용된다. 그러나, 이 저결정화도 RB는 융점이 낮기 때문에 (융점=약 70 내지 95℃), 내증기멸균성이 떨어진다. 이 때문에, 후술하는 바와 같이 전자선 조사에 의해 가교시켜서 내열성을 부여하는 것이 바람직하다.
한편, 결정화도가 25 내지 40 질량% 정도인 신디오탁틱 1,2-폴리부타디엔 (이하, "고결정 RB"라고도 함)은 융점이 비교적 높지만 (융점=약 105 내지 140℃), 한편으로는 경도가 높아 유연성이 떨어지기 때문에 커넥터로서 바람직하게 사용할 수 있다.
본 발명에 사용되는 (A) 신디오탁틱 1,2-폴리부타디엔은 예를 들어 1,2- 결합 함유량이 70% 이상인 것이고, 예를 들어 코발트 화합물 및 알루미노옥산을 함유하는 촉매의 존재하에 부타디엔을 중합하여 얻어지는 것이지만, 이 제조 방법에 한정되는 것은 아니다.
본 발명에 사용되는 (A) 신디오탁틱 1,2-폴리부타디엔의 부타디엔 결합 단위에 있어서의 1,2-결합 함유량은 통상적으로 70% 이상, 바람직하게는 80% 이상, 더욱 바람직하게는 90% 이상이다. 1,2-결합 함유량이 70% 이상이면 해당 1,2-폴리부타디엔이 양호한 열가소성 엘라스토머로서의 성질을 발휘한다.
본 발명에 사용되는 (A) 신디오탁틱 1,2-폴리부타디엔은 부타디엔 이외의 공액 디엔이 소량 공중합되어 있을 수 있다. 부타디엔 이외의 공액 디엔으로는 1,3-펜타디엔, 고급 알킬기로 치환된 1,3-부타디엔 유도체, 2-알킬 치환-1,3-부타디엔 등을 들 수 있다.
그 중, 고급 알킬기로 치환된 1,3-부타디엔 유도체로는 1-펜틸-1,3-부타디엔, 1-헥실-1,3-부타디엔, 1-헵틸-1,3-부타디엔, 1-옥틸 1,3-부타디엔 등을 들 수 있다.
여기서, 2-알킬 치환-1,3-부타디엔의 대표적인 것으로는 2-메틸-1,3-부타디엔 (이소프렌), 2-에틸-1,3-부타디엔, 2-프로필-1,3-부타디엔, 2-이소프로필-1,3-부타디엔, 2-부틸-1,3-부타디엔, 2-이소부틸-1,3-부타디엔, 2-아밀-1,3-부타디엔, 2-이소아밀-1,3-부타디엔, 2-헥실-1,3-부타디엔, 2-시클로헥실-1,3-부타디엔, 2-이소헥실-1,3-부타디엔, 2-헵틸-1,3-부타디엔, 2-이소헵틸-1,3-부타디엔, 2-옥틸-1,3-부타디엔, 2-이소옥틸-1,3-부타디엔 등을 들 수 있다. 이들 공액 디엔 중, 부타디엔과 공중합되는 바람직한 공액 디엔으로는 이소프렌, 1,3-펜타디엔을 들 수 있다. 중합에 제공되는 단량체 성분 중의 부타디엔의 함유량은 50 몰% 이상, 특히 70 몰% 이상이 바람직하다.
본 발명에서 사용되는 (A) 신디오탁틱 1,2-폴리부타디엔은 상술한 바와 같이, 예를 들어 코발트 화합물 및 알루미노옥산을 함유하는 촉매의 존재하에 부타디엔을 중합하여 얻어진다. 상기 코발트 화합물로는 바람직하게는 탄소수 4 이상의 코발트의 유기산염을 들 수 있다. 이 코발트의 유기산염의 구체예로는 부티르산염, 헥산산염, 헵틸산염, 2-에틸헥실산 등의 옥틸산염, 데칸산염 또는 스테아르산, 올레산, 에루크산 등의 고급 지방산염, 벤조산염, 톨릴산염, 크실릴산염, 에틸벤조산 등의 알킬, 아르알킬, 알릴 치환 벤조산염이나 나프토산염, 알킬, 아르알킬 또는 알릴 치환 나프토산염을 들 수 있다. 이들 중에서, 2-에틸헥실산의 소위 옥틸산염 또는 스테아르산염, 벤조산염이 탄화수소 용매로의 우수한 용해성 때문에 바람직하다.
상기 알루미노옥산의 예로는 하기 화학식 I 또는 화학식 Ⅱ로 표시되는 것을 들 수 있다.
상기 화학식 I 또는 Ⅱ로 표시되는 알루미노옥산에 있어서, R은 메틸기, 에틸기, 프로필기, 부틸기 등의 탄화수소기이고, 바람직하게는 메틸기, 에틸기이고, 특히 바람직하게는 메틸기이다. 또한, m은 2 이상, 바람직하게는 5 이상, 더욱 바람직하게는 10 내지 100의 정수이다. 알루미노옥산의 구체예로는 메틸알루미노옥산, 에틸알루미노옥산, 프로필알루미노옥산, 부틸알루미노옥산 등을 들 수 있고, 메틸알루미노옥산이 특히 바람직하다.
중합 촉매는 상기 코발트 화합물과 알루미노옥산 이외에 포스핀 화합물을 함유하는 것이 매우 바람직하다. 포스핀 화합물은 중합 촉매의 활성화, 비닐 결합 구조 및 결정성의 제어에 유효한 성분이며, 바람직하게는 하기 화학식 Ⅲ으로 표시되는 유기인 화합물을 들 수 있다.
화학식 Ⅲ에서, Ar은 하기로 표시되는 기를 나타낸다.
(상기 기에 있어서, R1, R2, R3은 동일하거나 상이하고, 수소 원자, 탄소수가 바람직하게는 1 내지 6인 알킬기, 할로겐 원자, 탄소수가 바람직하게는 1 내지 6인 알콕시기 또는 탄소수가 바람직하게는 6 내지 12인 아릴기를 나타낸다.)
또한, 화학식 Ⅲ에서, R'은 시클로알킬기, 알킬 치환 시클로알킬기를 나타내고, n은 0 내지 3의 정수이다.
화학식 Ⅲ으로 표시되는 포스핀 화합물로는, 구체적으로 트리-(3-메틸페닐)포스핀, 트리-(3-에틸페닐)포스핀, 트리-(3,5-디메틸페닐)포스핀, 트리-(3,4-디메틸페닐)포스핀, 트리-(3-이소프로필페닐)포스핀, 트리-(3-t-부틸페닐)포스핀, 트리-(3,5-디에틸페닐)포스핀, 트리-(3-메틸-5-에틸페닐)포스핀), 트리-(3-페닐페닐)포스핀, 트리-(3,4,5-트리메틸페닐)포스핀, 트리-(4-메톡시-3,5-디메틸페닐)포스핀, 트리-(4-에톡시-3,5-디에틸페닐)포스핀, 트리-(4-부톡시-3,5-디부틸페닐)포스핀, 트리(p-메톡시페닐포스핀), 트리시클로헥실포스핀, 디시클로헥실페닐포스핀, 트리벤질포스핀, 트리(4-메틸페닐포스핀), 트리(4-에틸페닐포스핀) 등을 들 수 있다. 이들 중에서도 특히 바람직한 것으로는 트리페닐포스핀, 트리-(3-메틸페닐)포스핀, 트리-(4-메톡시-3,5-디메틸페닐)포스핀 등을 들 수 있다.
또한, 코발트 화합물로는 하기 화학식 Ⅳ로 표시되는 화합물을 사용할 수 있다.
상기 화학식 Ⅳ로 표시되는 화합물은 염화코발트에 대한 배위자에 상기 화학식 Ⅲ에서 n이 3인 포스핀 화합물을 갖는 착체이다. 이 코발트 화합물의 사용시에는 미리 합성한 것을 사용할 수도 있고, 또는 중합계 중에 염화코발트와 포스핀 화합물을 접촉시키는 방법으로 사용할 수도 있다. 착체 중의 포스핀 화합물을 다양하게 선택함으로써, 얻어지는 신디오탁틱 1,2-폴리부타디엔의 1,2-결합의 양 및 결정화도를 제어할 수 있다.
상기 화학식 Ⅳ로 표시되는 코발트 화합물의 구체예로는 코발트 비스(트리페닐포스핀)디클로라이드, 코발트 비스[트리스(3-메틸페닐포스핀)]디클로라이드, 코발트 비스[트리스(3-에틸페닐포스핀)]디클로라이드, 코발트 비스[트리스(4-메틸페닐포스핀)]디클로라이드, 코발트 비스[트리스(3,5-디메틸페닐포스핀)]디클로라이드, 코발트 비스[트리스(3,4-디메틸페닐포스핀)]디클로라이드, 코발트 비스[트리스(3-이소프로필페닐포스핀)]디클로라이드, 코발트 비스[트리스(3-t-부틸페닐포스핀)]디클로라이드, 코발트 비스[트리스(3,5-디에틸페닐포스핀)]디클로라이드, 코발트 비스[트리스(3-메틸-5-에틸페닐포스핀)]디클로라이드, 코발트 비스[트리스(3-페닐페닐포스핀)]디클로라이드, 코발트 비스[트리스(3,4,5-트리메틸페닐포스핀)]디클로라이드, 코발트 비스[트리스(4-메톡시-3,5-디메틸페닐포스핀)]디클로라이드, 코발트 비스[트리스(4-에톡시-3,5-디에틸페닐포스핀)]디클로라이드, 코발트 비스[트리스(4-부톡시-3,5-디부틸페닐포스핀)]디클로라이드, 코발트 비스[트리스(4-메톡시페닐포스핀)]디클로라이드, 코발트 비스[트리스(3-메톡시페닐포스핀)]디클로라이드, 코발트 비스[트리스(4-도데실페닐포스핀)]디클로라이드, 코발트 비스[트리스(4-에 틸페닐포스핀)]디클로라이드 등을 사용할 수 있다.
이들 중에서도 특히 바람직한 것으로는 코발트 비스(트리페닐포스핀)디클로라이드, 코발트 비스[트리스(3-메틸페닐포스핀)]디클로라이드, 코발트 비스[트리스(3,5-디메틸페닐포스핀)]디클로라이드, 코발트 비스[트리스(4-메톡시-3,5-디메틸페닐포스핀)]디클로라이드 등을 들 수 있다.
촉매의 사용량은, 부타디엔 단독 중합의 경우에는 부타디엔 1몰 당, 공중합하는 경우에는 부타디엔과 부타디엔 이외의 공액 디엔과의 합계량 1몰 당 코발트 화합물을 코발트 원자 환산으로 0.001 내지 1 밀리몰, 바람직하게는 0.01 내지 0.5 밀리몰 정도로 사용한다. 또한, 포스핀 화합물의 사용량은 코발트 원자에 대한 인 원자의 비율 (P/Co)로서 통상 0.1 내지 50, 바람직하게는 0.5 내지 20, 더욱 바람직하게는 1 내지 20이다. 또한, 알루미노옥산의 사용량은 코발트 화합물의 코발트 원자에 대한 알루미늄 원자의 비율 (Al/Co)로서 통상 4 내지 107, 바람직하게는 10 내지 106이다. 한편, 화학식 Ⅳ로 표시되는 착체를 이용하는 경우에는 포스핀 화합물의 사용량이 코발트 원자에 대한 인 원자의 비율 (P/Co)이 2가 되는 양이고, 알루미노옥산의 사용량은 상기한 기재에 따른다.
중합 용매로서 사용되는 불활성 유기 용매의 예로는 벤젠, 톨루엔, 크실렌, 쿠멘 등의 방향족 탄화수소 용매, n-펜탄, n-헥산, n-부탄 등의 지방족 탄화수소 용매, 시클로펜탄, 메틸시클로펜탄, 시클로헥산 등의 지환족 탄화수소 용매 및 이들의 혼합물을 들 수 있다.
중합 온도는 통상 -50 내지 120℃이고, 바람직하게는 -20 내지 100℃ 이다.
중합 반응은 회분식이나 연속식일 수 있다. 한편, 용매 중의 단량체 농도는 통상 5 내지 50 질량%, 바람직하게는 10 내지 35 질량%이다.
또한, 중합체를 제조하기 위해 본 발명의 촉매 및 중합체를 실활시키지 않기 위해서는 중합계 내에 산소, 물 또는 탄산 가스 등과 같이 실활 작용이 있는 화합물이 혼입되는 것을 최대한 줄이고자 하는 배려가 필요하다. 중합 반응이 원하는 단계까지 진행되면, 반응 혼합물에 알코올, 그 밖의 중합 정지제, 노화 방지제, 산화 방지제, 자외선 흡수제 등을 첨가한 후에 통상의 방법에 따라서 생성 중합체를 분리, 세정, 건조시켜 본 발명에 사용되는 신디오탁틱 1,2-폴리부타디엔을 얻을 수 있다.
본 발명에 사용되는 (A) 신디오탁틱 1,2-폴리부타디엔의 중량 평균 분자량은 바람직하게는 1만 내지 500만, 더욱 바람직하게는 1만 내지 150만, 특히 바람직하게는 5만 내지 100만이다. 중량 평균 분자량이 1만 미만이면 유동성이 극단적으로 높아서 가공하기가 매우 곤란할 뿐만이 아니라 성형품 (의료용 부재)이 달라붙기 때문에 바람직하지 않고, 한편, 500만을 초과하면 유동성이 극단적으로 낮아 가공하기가 매우 곤란하여 바람직하지 않다.
한편, (B) 열가소성 중합체로는 상기 (A) 성분 이외의 열가소성 수지 및(또는) 열가소성 엘라스토머이고, 구체적으로는 폴리에틸렌, 폴리프로필렌, 스티렌-부타디엔-스티렌 블록 공중합체 (SBS), 스티렌-이소프렌-스티렌 블록 공중합체 (SIS), 이들의 수소화물 (SEBS, SEPS), 상기 신디오탁틱 1,2-폴리부타디엔 이외의 폴리부타디엔 (BR), ABS 수지, 폴리이소프렌, 각종 폴리에틸렌 (LLDPE, ULDPE, LDPE), 에틸렌-아세트산비닐 공중합체, 에틸렌-아크릴산 에스테르 공중합체 및 에틸렌-메타크릴산 공중합체의 군에서 선택된 1종 이상이다.
(B) 성분의 배합량은 (A) 내지 (B) 성분의 합계량 100 질량부에 대하여 40 질량부 이하, 바람직하게는 0 내지 35 질량부이다. 40 질량부를 초과하면 (A) 성분의 사용 비율이 적어져서 (A) 성분 본래의 유연성이 상실된다.
한편, 본 발명에 사용되는 조성물에는, 상기 (A) 내지 (B) 성분 이외에도 필요에 따라서 윤활제, 충전재 또는 발포제 등의 첨가제를 함유할 수도 있다. 상기 첨가제의 구체예로는 파라핀 오일, 실리콘 오일, 액상 폴리이소프렌, 액상 폴리부타디엔, 에루크산 아미드, 스테아르산 아미드 등의 윤활제 뿐만이 아니라 탈크, 실리카, 수산화마그네슘, 탄산칼슘, 유리, 탄소 섬유, 유리 벌룬 등의 충전재, 및 마쓰모토유지사 제조의 미소구, ADCA, OBSH, 탄산수소나트륨, AIBN 등의 발포제를 들 수 있다.
한편, 윤활제의 사용량은 수지 성분, 즉 (A) 내지 (B) 성분의 합계 100 질량부에 대하여 10 질량부 이하, 바람직하게는 0.01 내지 8 질량부이다. 10 질량부를 초과하면 윤활제가 제품으로부터 누설되어 사용 약제에 용출되기 때문에 바람직하지 않다.
또한, 전자선 조사에 의한 내열성과 유연성의 균형을 향상시키기 위해서 그 밖의 첨가제, 예를 들어 트리메틸프로판트리메타크릴레이트 등의 다관능 단량체, 히드록시시클로헥실페닐케톤 등의 광중합 개시제, 벤조페논 등의 광증감제 등을 신 디오탁틱 1,2-폴리부타디엔 100 질량부에 대하여 5 질량부 이하로 함유시킬 수 있다.
조성물의 제조 및 성형
본 발명의 폴리부타디엔 성형품에 사용되는 조성물은 상기 (A) 성분 단독, 또는 (A) 내지 (B) 성분, 필요에 따라서는 이들에 추가하여 상기한 첨가제 등을 첨가하여 가열 연화시키고 혼련하여 성형한다. 혼련과 성형은 신디오탁틱 1,2-폴리부타디엔의 연화 온도 내지 용융 온도 이상의 성형성이 양호한 온도 범위에서 수행하여 균질한 성형품 (튜브 등의 의료용 부재)으로 한다. 이때문에 성형 온도는 90 내지 170℃ 정도가 바람직하다. 튜브, 커넥터 등의 성형품을 얻기 위해서는 프레스 성형, 압출 성형, 사출 성형, 취입 성형, 이형 압출 성형, T 다이 필름 성형, 인플레이션 성형, 파우더 슬러쉬 성형, 회전 성형 등이 이용되며, 튜브 등이나 튜브 접속부를 갖는 커넥터로 성형된다.
전자선 조사
본 발명의 폴리부타디엔 성형품 중 튜브에서는 유연성이 요구되기 때문에 저결정 RB가 사용되지만, 이것은 융점이 낮아서 내증기멸균성이 낮기 때문에 이러한 내증기멸균성을 발현시키기 위해서는 이후에 전자선을 조사하여 가교할 수 있다. 전자선을 조사하면, 신디오탁틱 1,2-폴리부타디엔의 비닐기가 라디칼 중합하여 삼차원 가교 구조가 되면서 성형품 (튜브)에 내열성을 부여한다. 전자선은 합성 수지에 대하여 투과성이 있고, 그 투과 정도는 성형품의 두께와 전자선의 운동 에너지에 따라 달라진다.
두께 방향으로 균일하게 투과 가능하도록 조사 두께에 따라 적절하게 전자선의 에너지를 조절하면, 두께 방향에서 가교도가 균일한 성형품 (튜브)을 얻을 수 있다.
한편, 커넥터에도 전자선 조사를 실시할 수 있다.
또한, 전자선 조사는 튜브와 커넥터의 접착 전일 수도 있고 접착 후일 수도 있다.
전자선 에너지는 상기 튜브 등의 폴리부타디엔 성형품 (의료용 부재)에 대하여 전자선 가속 전압을 바람직하게는 50 내지 3,000 kV, 더욱 바람직하게는 300 내지 2,000 kV로 하지만, 50 kV보다 작으면 표층부에서 포획 흡수되는 전자의 비율이 상대적으로 많아져 성형품을 투과하는 전자선이 적어지고, 표층부에 비해 내부의 가교가 지연되어 가교도에 차이가 발생하기 때문에 바람직하지 않다. 한편, 3,000 kV보다 크면 가교도가 너무 커져 경질이 되는 동시에 탄력성이나 신장률이 작아져 바람직하지 않다.
또한, 이때의 전자선의 조사량은 바람직하게는 1 내지 100 Mrad (SI 단위계에서 10 내지 1,000 kGy에 상응함), 더욱 바람직하게는 1 내지 50 Mrad의 범위로 조사하여 가교 경화시킨다. 1 Mrad보다 적으면, 1,2-폴리부타디엔의 가교도가 작고, 100 Mrad를 초과하면 가교도가 너무 커져 경질이 되기 때문에 탄력성이나 신장률이 작아져 바람직하지 않다.
전자선 조사에 의한 가교는 전자선 가속 전압과 조사량의 곱으로 나타낼 수 있고, 본 발명에 있어서는 전자선 가속 전압 (kV)과 조사선량 (Mrad)의 곱을 바람 직하게는 2,000 내지 20,000 (kV·Mrad), 더욱 바람직하게는 5,000 내지 16,000 (kV·Mrad)로 한다. 2,000 (kV·Mrad)보다 작으면 표층부에서 포획 흡수되는 전자의 비율이 상대적으로 많아져 폴리부타디엔 성형품 (의료용 부재)을 투과하는 전자선이 적어지고, 표층부에 비해 내부의 가교가 지연되어 가교도에 차이가 발생하기 때문에 바람직하지 않다. 한편, 20,000 (kV·Mrad)보다 크면 가교도가 너무 커져서 경질이 되기 때문에 탄력성이나 신장률이 작아져 바람직하지 않다.
본 발명의 폴리부타디엔 성형품 (튜브 등의 의료용 부재)에 상기한 바와 같은 전자선 조사를 실시함으로써, 전자선 조사 후의 의료용 부재의 50% 신장시의 탄성률 (M250)을 전자선 조사 전의 50% 신장시의 탄성률 (M150)의 바람직하게는 1.1 내지 2.5배, 더욱 바람직하게는 1.1 내지 2.0배로 할 수 있다. M250/M150이 1.1 미만이면 전자선 가교가 진행되지 않고 내증기멸균성이 떨어지는 한편, 2.5를 초과하면 가교된 폴리부타디엔 성형품 (튜브 등의 의료용 부재)이 너무 딱딱해져서 유연성이 상실되기 때문에 바람직하지 않다. M250/M150은 상기 전자선 가속 전압 (kV)과 조사선량 (Mrad)의 곱을 2,000 내지 20,000 (kV·Mrad)으로 함으로써 용이하게 조정할 수 있다.
또한, 이와 같이 하여 얻어지는 전자선 조사 후의 가교된 튜브 등의 폴리부타디엔 성형품 (의료용 부재)은 내증기멸균성을 가지며, 예를 들어 본 발명의 가교된 수액 튜브를 이용하여 100 내지 121℃에서 10 내지 20분 정도 증기 멸균하더라도 변형되지 않는다.
여기서의 내증기멸균성이란, 구체적으로는 수액 튜브 등의 수지 성형품 (예를 들면, 내경 3 ㎜φ, 외경 4.4 ㎜φ, 두께 0.7 ㎜의 튜브, 튜브 길이 20 cm)을 고압 증기 멸균기에 넣고 121℃에서 20분간 증기 멸균한 경우에 멸균 전의 원형이 유지되고 변형이 관찰되지 않는 것을 의미한다.
또한, 본 발명의 전자선이 조사된 폴리부타디엔 성형품 (튜브 등의 의료용 부재)은 헤이즈값이 바람직하게는 30 이하, 더욱 바람직하게는 25 이하이다. 헤이즈값은 투명성의 척도이며, 그 값이 작을 수록 투명성이 좋아진다. 이 헤이즈값은 ASTM D-1003에 준거하여 측정하였다.
또한, 전자선 조사 후의 본 발명의 폴리부타디엔 성형품 (튜브 등의 의료용 부재)에서는 톨루엔 불용분이 통상 50 내지 99 질량%, 바람직하게는 80 내지 95 질량%이다. 톨루엔 불용분은 해당 폴리부타디엔 성형품에 전자선 조사를 실시함으로써, (A) 신디오탁틱 1,2-폴리부타디엔 중의 이중 결합이 어느 정도 가교되어 있는지를 나타내는 지표이다.
여기서, 톨루엔 불용분은 본 발명의 폴리부타디엔 성형품 (의료용 부재) [(a)g]을 100 mL의 톨루엔에 침지시켜서 30℃에서 48 시간 방치한 후에 100 메쉬 철망을 통해 여과하고, 여과액의 일부 [(c)mL]를 채취한 후에 증발 건조 고화시켜 얻어진 잔존 고형분 [톨루엔 가용분: (b)g]을 칭량하여 하기 계산식에 따라 겔 함유량을 산출하였다.
겔 함유량 (질량%)= [{a-b×(100/c)}/a]×100
톨루엔 불용분이 50 질량% 미만이면 전자선 조사에 의한 가교가 불충분하고 내열성이 떨어지며, 내증기멸균성이 떨어진다. 한편, 99 질량%를 초과하면 전자선 조사에 의한 가교가 지나치게 진행되어 의료용 부재가 딱딱해져서 유연성이 상실되어 바람직하지 않다.
상기 톨루엔 불용분은 상기 전자선 가속 전압 (kV)과 조사선량 (Mrad)의 곱을 2,000 내지 20,000 (kV·Mrad)으로 함으로써 용이하게 조정할 수 있다.
또한, 본 발명의 폴리부타디엔 성형품 (튜브 등의 의료용 부재)은 할로겐 원자의 함유량이 바람직하게는 200 ppm 이하, 더욱 바람직하게는 100 ppm 이하이다. 이 할로겐 원자의 함유량은 예를 들어 상기한 바와 같이 중합 용매로서 비할로겐계의 불활성 유기 용매를 사용함으로써, 얻어지는 1,2-폴리부타디엔 중의 할로겐 원자의 함유량을 바람직하게는 200 ppm 이하, 더욱 바람직하게는 100 ppm 이하로 할 수 있다. 또한, 촉매계에 있어서, 비할로겐계 화합물만을 사용하는 것은 폴리부타디엔 성형품 (의료용 부재) 중의 할로겐 원자의 함유량을 더욱 감소시킬 수 있어 바람직하다.
이와 같이 하여 전자선 조사된 폴리부타디엔 성형품은 유연성과 경도가 우수하고, 또한 내증기멸균성을 갖기 때문에 튜브 외에 커넥터에도 유용하다.
본 발명에 사용되는 폴리부타디엔 성형품이란, 상기한 바와 같은 1,2-폴리부타디엔으로 이루어지는 튜브, 1,2-폴리부타디엔과 스티렌-이소프렌 블록 공중합체 (SIS)의 블렌드로 이루어지는 튜브, 1,2-폴리부타디엔과 고무의 블렌드로 이루어지는 튜브, 1,2-폴리부타디엔과 올레핀 수지의 블렌드로 이루어지는 튜브를 지칭한다. 이 중에서, 스티렌-이소프렌 블록 공중합체와의 조합은 수소 첨가한 스티렌- 에틸렌-프로필렌-스티렌일 수 있고, 부분 수소 첨가품일 수도 있다. 고무와의 조합은 다양한 고무를 사용할 수 있지만, 이소프렌 고무 및 천연 고무가 바람직하다. 올레핀 수지와의 조합으로는 LDPE, L-LDPE, EVA를 바람직한 수지로서 들 수 있다.
극성 수지
또한, 본 발명의 극성 수지 성형품에 사용되는 극성 수지로는, 열가소성 플라스틱으로서 ABS 수지, 폴리스티렌 수지, 아크릴 수지, 폴리아크릴아미드, 폴리아크릴산, 폴리아크릴산메틸, 폴리아크릴산에틸 등의 폴리아크릴산알킬에스테르, 폴리아크릴로니트릴, 아크릴로니트릴-스티렌 공중합체, 폴리메타크릴아미드, 폴리메타크릴산, 폴리메타크릴산메틸 수지, 폴리메타크릴산에틸 수지 등의 폴리메타크릴산알킬에스테르, 폴리우레탄 수지, 폴리메타크릴로니트릴, 아세탈 수지, 폴리옥시메틸렌, 이오노머, 염소화 폴리에틸렌, 쿠마론·인덴 수지, 재생 셀룰로오스, 석유 수지, 셀룰로오스 유도체, 알칼리 셀룰로오스, 셀룰로오스 에스테르, 셀룰로오스 아세테이트, 셀룰로오스 아세테이트 부틸레이트, 셀룰로오스 잔테이트, 셀룰로오스 니트레이트, 셀룰로오스 에테르, 카르복시메틸 셀룰로오스, 셀룰로오스 에테르 에스테르, 불소 수지, FEP, 폴리클로로트리플루오로에틸렌, 폴리테트라플루오로에틸렌, 폴리불화비닐리덴, 폴리불화비닐, 나일론 11, 나일론 12, 나일론 6, 나일론 6,10, 나일론 6,12, 나일론 6,6, 나일론 4,6 등의 폴리폴리아미드 수지, 폴리페닐렌이소프탈아미드, 폴리페닐렌테레프탈아미드, 메타크실릴렌디아민 등의 방향족 폴리아미드, 폴리이미드, 폴리페닐렌 술피드, 폴리에테르에테르케톤, 폴리아미드이미드, 폴리아릴레이트, 폴리에틸렌테레프탈레이트 등의 폴리에스테르 수지, 폴리염화 비닐, 폴리염화비닐리덴 수지, 염소화 폴리에틸렌, 클로로술폰화 폴리에틸렌, 폴리카르보네이트, CR-39, 폴리술폰, 폴리에테르술폰, 폴리술폰아미드, 폴리비닐알코올, 폴리비닐에스테르, 폴리신남산비닐, 폴리아세트산비닐, 폴리비닐에테르, 폴리이소부틸비닐에테르, 폴리메틸비닐에테르, 폴리페닐렌옥시드, 폴리부틸렌테레프탈레이트 등을 들 수 있고, 또한 열경화성 플라스틱으로서 아미노 수지, 아닐린 수지, 요소 수지, 폴리술폰아미드, 멜라민 수지, 알릴 수지, 프탈산디알릴 수지, 알키드 수지, 에폭시 수지, 실리콘 수지, 비닐에스테르 수지, 페놀 수지, 노볼락 수지, 레조르시놀 수지, 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지, 저수축 불포화 폴리에스테르, 푸란 수지 등을 들 수 있다.
이 중, 바람직한 극성 수지는 폴리카르보네이트 수지, 폴리에틸렌테레프탈레이트 또는 폴리부틸렌테레프탈레이트 등의 폴리에스테르 수지, ABS 수지, 폴리스티렌 수지, 폴리아크릴 수지, 폴리우레탄 수지, 폴리아미드 수지, 폴리아세트산비닐 수지, 폴리염화비닐 수지 및 폴리염화비닐리덴 수지를 들 수 있다.
한편, 극성 수지의 용해도 파라미터 (SP치)는 바람직하게는 9 내지 13, 더욱 바람직하게는 9.5 내지 12이다.
여기서, 용해도 파라미터는 문헌 [John Wiley & Son사 출판 "폴리머 핸드북" 1999년, 제4판, 섹션 VII 제682 내지 685 페이지]에 기재된 그룹 기여법으로 소그룹의 그룹 파라미터를 이용하여 산출한 값이다. 예를 들면, 폴리메타크릴산메틸 (반복 단위 분자량 100 g/몰, 밀도=1.19 g/㎤로 계산 (이하, 단위 생략))은 9.25 (cal/㎤)1/2, 폴리아크릴산 부틸 (반복 단위 분자량 128, 밀도 1.06으로 계산)은 8.97 (cal/㎤)1/2, 폴리메타크릴산 부틸 (반복 단위 분자량 142, 밀도 1.06으로 계산)은 9.47 (cal/㎤)1/2, 폴리스티렌 (반복 단위 분자량 104, 밀도 1.05로 계산)은 9.03 (cal/㎤)1/2, 폴리아크릴로니트릴 (반복 단위 분자량 53, 밀도 1.18로 계산)은 12.71 (cal/㎤)1/2이다. 한편, 각 중합체의 밀도는 문헌 [VCH사 출판의 "ULLMANN'S ENCYCLOPEDIA OF INDUSTRIAL CHEMISTRY" 1992년, 제A21권, 제169 페이지]에 기재된 값을 사용하였다. 또한, 공중합체의 용해도 파라미터 (δc)는 질량 분율 5% 미만의 경우에는 주성분의 값을 이용하고, 질량 분율 5% 이상의 경우에는 질량 분율에 가성성(加成性)이 성립하는 것으로 하였다. 즉, m가지 종류의 단량체로 이루어지는 공중합체를 구성하는 개개의 단량체의 단독 중합체의 용해도 파라미터 (δn)와 그 질량 분율 (Wn)로부터 하기 수학식 1에 의해 산출할 수 있다.
예를 들어 스티렌 75 질량%와 아크릴로니트릴 25 질량%로 이루어지는 공중합체의 용해도 파라미터는, 폴리스티렌의 용해도 파라미터 9.03 (cal/㎤)1/2와 폴리아크릴로니트릴의 용해도 파라미터 12.71 (cal/㎤)1/2을 수학식 1에 대입하여 9.95 (cal/㎤)1/2의 값이 얻어진다.
또한, 비닐계 단량체를 2 단계 이상이면서 각 단계에서 비닐계 단량체의 종류를 변경해서 중합하여 얻어지는 비닐계 중합체의 용해도 파라미터 (δs)는 최종적으로 얻어진 비닐계 중합체의 전체 질량을 각 단계에서 얻어진 비닐계 중합체의 질량으로 나눈 값, 즉 질량 분율에 가성성이 성립하는 것으로 하였다. 즉, q 단계에서 중합하고, 각 단계에서 얻어진 중합체의 용해도 파라미터 (δi)와 그 질량 분율 (Wi)로부터 하기 수학식 2에 의해 산출할 수 있다.
예를 들면, 2 단계로 중합하고, 제1 단계에 스티렌 75 질량%와 아크릴로니트릴 25 질량%로 이루어지는 공중합체가 50 질량부 얻어지고, 제2 단계에 메타크릴산메틸의 중합체가 50 질량부 얻어졌다고 하면, 이러한 2 단계 중합으로 얻어진 중합체의 용해도 파라미터는 스티렌 (75 질량%)-아크릴로니트릴 (25 질량%) 공중합체의 용해도 파라미터 9.95와 폴리메타크릴산메틸의 용해도 파라미터 9.25 (cal/㎤)1/2를 수학식 2에 대입하여 9.60 (cal/㎤)1/2의 값이 얻어진다.
용해도 파라미터를 상기 범위 내로 하면, 오존 처리, 전자선 처리, 코로나 방전 처리, 플라즈마 방전 처리, 자외선 처리, 자외선 레이저 처리 및 화학 처리하여 수접촉각이 감소된 폴리부타디엔 복합 성형품의 수접촉각에 근접하여, 극성 용 제로 용제 접착할 때에 높은 접착 강도를 얻을 수 있는 효과를 발휘한다.
용해도 파라미터가 9 미만이면 극성 용제에 의한 접착력이 불충분해져 바람직하지 않다. 한편, 13을 초과하면 약품 흡착이 강해져서 커넥터 용도로는 적합하지 않다.
이러한 용해도 파라미터를 만족하는 극성 수지로는 상기한 바람직한 극성 수지를 들 수 있다.
한편, 본 발명에 사용되는 극성 수지 성형품으로는 상기 각종 극성 수지로 이루어지는 커넥터, 수액 세트 보조구 등을 들 수 있다.
본 발명의 폴리부타디엔 성형품의 접착 방법은 (1) 폴리부타디엔 성형품을 우선 오존 처리함으로써 폴리부타디엔 성형품의 표면에 후술하는 극성기를 도입하고, 이어서 (2) 오존 처리된 폴리부타디엔 성형품과 극성 수지 성형품을 접착하는 공정을 포함한다.
(1) 공정 (
수접촉각
감소 공정)
(1) 공정으로는 폴리부타디엔 성형품 표면의 수접촉각을 감소시키는 수단이면 어떠한 방법이어도 바람직하지만, 예를 들어 오존 처리, 코로나 방전 처리, 플라즈마 방전 처리, 엑시머 레이저 처리, 전자선 처리, 자외선 처리, 또는 화학 처리를 들 수 있다.
오존 처리:
오존 처리는 폴리부타디엔 성형품을 오존에 노출시켜 수행된다. 노출 방법은 폴리부타디엔 성형품을 오존이 존재하는 분위기에 소정 시간 유지하는 방법, 오 존 기류 중에 소정 시간 노출하는 방법 등의 적절한 방법으로 수행할 수 있다.
여기서, 오존은 공기, 산소 가스, 또는 산소 첨가 공기 등의 산소 함유 기체를 오존 발생 장치 (자외선 조사 장치 등)에 공급함으로써 발생시킬 수 있다. 얻어진 오존 함유 기체를 폴리부타디엔 성형품이 유지되어 있는 용기, 통 등에 도입하여 오존 처리를 수행한다. 오존 함유 기체 중의 오존 농도, 노출 시간, 노출 온도의 여러 조건은 극성 수지 성형품의 종류 및 표면 개질의 목적에 따라 적절히 정할 수 있다.
오존 처리 조건은 폴리부타디엔 성형품의 형상 등에 따라 다르다. 산소 또는 공기 기류를 이용하여 유량 20 내지 2,000 mL/분으로 1 내지 200 mg/L 농도의 오존을 발생시키고, 온도 0 내지 80℃, 시간 1분 내지 24 시간으로 처리할 수 있다. 예를 들면, 오존 농도 10 내지 80 mg/L로 실온하에서 20 내지 30분 정도의 처리가 적당하다. 또한, 필름 형상의 경우에는 오존 농도 1 내지 20 mg/L 정도로 실온하에서 30분 내지 6 시간 정도의 처리가 적당하다. 공기를 이용한 경우의 발생 오존 농도는 산소를 이용한 경우의 약 50%가 된다.
오존 처리에 의해, 폴리부타디엔 성형품의 표면에는 산화를 주로 하는 반응에 의해 과탄산기 (-C-O-OH)가 도입되고, 그 일부가 수산기 (-OH) 또는 카르보닐기 (C=O) 등의 관능기로 변화된다고 추정된다.
전자선 처리:
전자선 처리는 상기 오존 발생 장치 대신에 전자선 가속기를 구비한 전자선 조사 장치를 사용하여 처리해야 할 폴리부타디엔 성형품의 표면에 전자선 가속기에 의해 발생시킨 전자선을 조사함으로써 실시된다. 상기 전자선 조사 장치의 예로는 선형 필라멘트로부터 커튼형으로 균일한 전자선을 조사할 수 있는 장치 (예를 들어 일렉트로커튼형 장치) 등을 사용할 수 있다. 이때의 전자선 조사선량은 통상 0.5 Mrad 이상, 바람직하게는 1.5 Mrad 이상, 더욱 바람직하게는 3 Mrad 이상이다. 전자선 조사선량은 전자선 조사 장치의 입구측에서의 처리 필름의 라인 속도에 대하여 설정되고, 그 상한은 특별히 한정되는 것은 아니지만, 통상 20 Mrad 정도이다.
코로나 방전 처리:
코로나 처리는 예를 들어 공지된 코로나 방전 처리기를 이용하여 불활성 기체 중에서 발생시킨 코로나 분위기에 처리해야 할 폴리부타디엔 성형품을 통과시킴으로써 이루어진다. 이때의 코로나 방전 밀도는 통상 10 (W·분/m2) 이상, 바람직하게는 30 내지 300 (W·분/m2)이다. 상기 불활성 기체로는 아르곤, 헬륨, 크립톤, 네온, 크세논, 또는 질소의 단일체 또는 이들의 2종 이상의 혼합 기체를 들 수 있고, 특히 공업적으로는 질소가 바람직하다. 상기 불활성 기체는 기체 중의 산소 농도가 1 용량% 이하, 바람직하게는 0.1 용량% 이하, 보다 바람직하게는 0.01 용량% 이하의 범위 내에서 산소를 함유하고 있을 수 있다.
플라즈마 처리:
플라즈마 처리에는 저압 플라즈마 처리와 대기압 플라즈마 처리가 있다. 저압 플라즈마 처리는 0.1 내지 5 Torr의 저압 상태에서 200 내지 1,000 W의 출력으로 상술한 불활성 기체를 플라즈마 제트로 전자적으로 여기시킨 후, 대전 입자를 제거하고, 전기적으로 중성으로 한 여기 불활성 기체를 처리해야 할 폴리부타디엔 성형품과 접촉시킴으로써 실시할 수 있다. 이때의 처리 시간은 10 내지 60초, 바람직하게는 20 내지 40초이다.
또한, 대기압 플라즈마 처리는 상술한 불활성 기체 중, 전극 사이에 3 내지 5 kHz, 2 내지 3000 V의 교류 전류를 인가하여 저압 플라즈마 처리와 동일한 여기 불활성 기체를 발생시킨 후, 상기 여기 불활성 기체를 처리해야 할 폴리부타디엔 성형품과 접촉시킴으로써 실시할 수 있다. 이때의 처리 시간은 10 내지 60초, 바람직하게는 20 내지 40초이다.
자외선 레이저 처리:
자외선 레이저광으로는 180 내지 360 nm, 바람직하게는 190 내지 250 nm의 발진 파장을 갖는 레이저가 있고, 바람직하게는 엑시머 레이저이다. 엑시머 레이저에 사용되는 가스로는 KrF, KrCl, ArF, ArCl, F2 등이 있고, 각각 고유의 발진 파장을 갖는다. 예를 들면, ArF 레이저는 192 nm의 발진 파장이 있고, 광자 에너지는 148 Kcal이다. 따라서, 결합 에너지가 100 내지 110 Kcal인 C-H 결합을 절단할 수 있고, 엑시머 레이저 조사에 의해 여기된 수소는 용이하게 방출되고, 그 대신에 공존시킨 공기 중의 산소 등에 의해, 예를 들어 카르보닐기, 카르복실기, 수산기 등을 도입할 수 있다.
엑시머 레이저의 조사량은 에너지 밀도로서 15 내지 25 mJ/㎠, 바람직하게는 18 내지 22 mJ/㎠이다. 즉, 에너지 밀도가 15 mJ/㎠ 미만이면 원하는 친수성을 얻 기 어렵고, 한편 25 mJ/㎠을 초과하여도 그 이상의 친수성이 향상되지 않을 뿐 아니라 오히려 기재인 폴리부타디엔 성형품 표면이 거칠어지기 때문이다.
화학 처리:
화학 처리란, 폴리부타디엔 성형품을 에칭 또는 열화시키는 처리 또는 표면에 관능기를 도입하는 처리이며, 그 구체예로는 상기 성형품을 과산화수소 등의 과산화물 처리, 질산, 염산, 황산, 크롬산, 과망간산 칼륨 용액 등의 무기산에 의한 처리, 염화알루미늄, 염화철의 톨루엔 등의 용액에 의한 처리 등을 들 수 있다.
화학 처리 조건으로는 산성, 중성, 염기성 용제 (물을 포함)하에 2 내지 50 질량% 농도의 질산, 염산, 황산, 크롬산, 과망간산칼륨 중 어느 하나와 폴리부타디엔 성형품을 5분 내지 48 시간 침지시켜 산화시킨다. 필요에 따라, 30 내지 50℃로 가온하는 수법도 채용할 수 있다.
이상의 (1) 공정은 상기 오존 처리, 전자선 처리, 코로나 방전 처리, 플라즈마 방전 처리, 자외선 레이저 처리, 또는 화학 처리를 단독으로 이용하여 수행할 수도 있고 또는 이들을 조합하여 이용함으로써 수행할 수도 있다.
예를 들어, (1) 공정은 오존의 존재하에서 자외선 레이저 처리하는 것이 폴리부타디엔 성형품의 수접촉각을 감소시키는 면에서 바람직하다.
상기 (1) 공정에 의해 폴리부타디엔 성형품 표면의 수접촉각을 감소시킬 수 있다.
그 이유는 상기한 바와 같이 이들 처리에 의해 폴리부타디엔 성형품의 표면에 예를 들어 카르보닐기, 카르복실기, 수산기, 알데히드기 등의 극성기를 도입하 거나, 또는 상기 표면을 조면화함으로써 수접촉각이 감소되기 때문이라고 추정된다.
여기서, 수접촉각은 처리된 판형의 폴리부타디엔 성형품에 물을 살짝 한 방울 얹었을 때의 접촉각을 시판되는 자동 접촉각계, 예를 들어 교와계면과학사 제조의 자동 접촉각계로 측정할 수 있다.
(1) 공정에서 처리된 폴리부타디엔 성형품의 수접촉각은 통상 80도 이하, 바람직하게는 75도 이하, 더욱 바람직하게는 10도 내지 70도이다. 80도를 초과하면 극성 수지 성형품과의 접착성이 떨어질 뿐 아니라 극성 용제를 사용할 수 없다는 문제가 발생한다.
한편, 상기 극성 수지의 수접촉각은 통상 80도 내지 20도, 바람직하게는 78도 내지 30도, 더욱 바람직하게는 75도 내지 40도이다.
따라서, (1) 공정에 의해 얻어진 수접촉각이 감소된 폴리부타디엔 성형품의 수접촉각 (CABR)과 극성 수지 성형품의 수접촉각 (CAPR)의 차이 (ΔCA)는 통상 +60도 내지 -15도, 바람직하게는 +60도 내지 -10도, 더욱 바람직하게는 +60도 내지 -5도, 특히 바람직하게는 +50도 내지 0도이다.
한편, 폴리부타디엔 자체의 용해도 파라미터는 통상 8.3 내지 8.5, 바람직하게는 8.4이지만, (1) 공정에서 처리된 후의 폴리부타디엔 성형품의 용해도 파라미터는 통상 9.0 내지 12.0, 바람직하게는 9.3 내지 11.0으로 상승하여 상기 극성 수지의 용해도 파라미터에 근접한다. 따라서, (1) 공정은 폴리부타디엔과 극성 수지 의 용해도 파라미터를 근사시킴으로써 접착성이 향상된다고도 할 수 있다.
이상의 (1) 공정은 폴리부타디엔 성형품과 극성 수지 성형품을 접착시킬 때에 상기 폴리부타디엔 성형품에 적용되지만, 이에 더하여 극성 수지 성형품에 적용하는 것도 가능하다.
이 경우, 극성 수지 성형품으로의 상기 각 처리 조건은 폴리부타디엔 성형품과 마찬가지이다.
(2) 공정 (접착 공정)
이어서, 본 발명에서는 (1) 공정의 처리에 의해 수접촉각이 감소된 폴리부타디엔 성형품을 극성 수지 성형품과 접착시킨다.
접착 방법으로는 접착시에 투명성을 손상시키지 않는 용제 접착, 초음파 접착, 또는 고주파 접착, 접착제를 사용한 접착 (UV 경화 아크릴형 순간 접착제, 시아노아크릴레이트형 순간 접착제를 포함) 등을 들 수 있지만, 바람직한 것은 용제 접착이다.
여기서, 용제 접착은 폴리부타디엔 성형품 및(또는) 극성 수지 성형품에 용해가능한 유기 용제를 이용하여 양자를 접착하는 것이다.
용제 접착은 폴리부타디엔 성형품 및 극성 수지 성형품에 공통되는 유기 용제를 사용할 수도 있고, 또한, 각각에 가용성인 유기 용제를 개별로 사용할 수도 있다.
상기 접착용 유기 용제로는 테트라히드로푸란, 시클로헥산, 톨루엔, 시클로헥사논, 메틸에틸케톤, 아세톤, 아세트산에틸 등을 들 수 있다.
이 접착 조건으로는 폴리부타디엔 성형품과 극성 수지 성형품의 접착 부위를 접착용 용제에 침지시키거나, 접착 용제를 분무하거나, 접착 용제를 솔, 자투리 천 등에 도포하는 등의 수단으로 실시할 수 있다.
한편, 상기 각 접착시에는 상기 접착에 공통되는 유기 용제 또는 개별적인 유기 용제를 조합 사용하여 폴리부타디엔 성형품 및 극성 수지 성형품을 각각 미리 처리해 두는 것이 바람직하다.
본 발명에 따르면, (1) 공정에서 오존 처리 등으로 처리된 튜브 등의 폴리부타디엔 성형품과 커넥터 등의 극성 수지 성형품을 접착시킴으로써 접착 부위가 견고하게 접착된 폴리부타디엔 복합 성형품이 얻어진다.
이하에서는, 본 발명의 폴리부타디엔 복합 성형품 (의료용 부재: 튜브 및 튜브 접속부를 갖는 커넥터)을 이용한 수액 세트에 대하여 도 1을 이용하여 추가로 구체적으로 설명한다.
이 수액 세트 (10)는 수액 백 (12) 내의 수액 배출용 관 (14)과의 결합을 위한 접속 부재 (커넥터) (15), 접속 부재 (15)와 점적통 (11)을 접속하는 제1 튜브 (T1), 점적통 (11)과 천자침 (13)을 접속하는 제2 튜브 (T2), 수액 속도를 조정하기 위한 클램프 (18), 및 천자침 (13)을 보호하는 캡 (16)을 갖는다. 한편, 부호 (19)는 제2 튜브 (T2)와 천자침 (13)을 접속하기 위한 접합 부재이다.
여기서, 천자침 (13)으로는 선단에 천자용 날끝을 갖는 중공 스테인레스강 등으로 이루어지는 금속침, 합성 수지제 바늘이 사용된다. 또한, 클램프 (18)로는 롤러 클램프가 사용되고, 이 롤러 클램프는 이동가능하게 설치된 롤러 (17)를 구비 하고, 이 롤러 (17)를 천자침 (13)쪽으로 이동시키면 제2 튜브 (T2)의 유로가 좁아져서 수액 속도의 조정이 가능하다. 점적통 (11) 내에는 수액제 등에 이물질이 포함되어 있는 경우를 대비하여 필터 (도시하지 않음)가 수납되어 있다. 한편, 천자침 (13)으로는 종래부터 사용되고 있는 것이 이용된다.
또한, 본 발명에 있어서 접합 부재 (15), 점적통 (11), 접합 부재 (19)는 모두 "튜브 접속부를 갖는 커넥터"에 해당하며, 폴리카르보네이트, 폴리에스테르, 투명 ABS, 염화비닐 등의 극성 수지가 사용된다.
또한, 튜브 (T1, T2)로는 투명성을 갖는 연질 튜브가 바람직하고, 구체적으로는 종래부터 사용되어 온 연질 염화비닐 수지, 결정화도가 5 내지 25% 정도인 저결정화도의 신디오탁틱 1,2-폴리부타디엔이 사용되고, 또한 본 발명의 결정화도 5% 이상, 바람직하게는 결정화도 5 내지 25% 정도의 저결정화도 신디오탁틱 1,2-폴리부타디엔을 오존 처리한 것이 사용된다.
여기서, 튜브 (T1, T2)의 각 선단과 결합 부재 (15), 점적통 (11), 접합 부재 (19) (모두 본 발명에 있어서의 커넥터에 상응함)에 있어서의 튜브 접속부는, 용제 접착, 초음파 접착 또는 고주파 접착에 의해 밀착 견고하게 고정되어 있다.
본 발명에서는 오존 처리된 신디오탁틱 1,2-폴리부타디엔으로 이루어지는 튜브가 폴리카르보네이트로 이루어지는 커넥터와 접착되어 있기 때문에 양자를 밀착 견고하게 고정할 수 있어 액 누설이 없다.
여기서, 용제 접착에는 상기한 바와 같이 테트라히드로푸란, 시클로헥산, 시클로헥사논, 메틸에틸케톤, 아세톤, 아세트산에틸, 톨루엔 등을 사용할 수 있다.
한편, 본 발명에 따라 튜브와 튜브 접합부를 갖는 커넥터로 이루어지는 의료용 부재는 상기 수액 세트의 구성 요소, 약제 투여용 카테터 등의 의료용 기구로의 구성 요소로서 적용할 수도 있다.
이하, 실시예를 들어 본 발명을 더욱 구체적으로 설명하지만, 본 발명은 이하의 실시예로 한정되는 것이 아니다. 한편, 실시예에서 부 및 %는 특별히 언급하지 않는 한은 질량을 기준으로 한 값이다. 또한, 실시예에서의 각종 측정은 이하에 따라 수행하였다.

오존 처리 및 접착 테스트용 테스트피스 제조
닛본세이코쇼사 제조의 사출 성형기 N-100을 이용하여 폭 20 ㎜×길이 100 ㎜×두께 2 ㎜ 성형품을 제조하였는데, 이때 1,2 폴리부타디엔 (JSR사 제조의 RB810 (1,2-비닐 결합 함량=90%, 밀도=0.901×103 kg/m3))은 성형 온도 130℃/금형 온도 20℃로 하고, 폴리에스테르 수지 (이스트만 케미컬사 제조의 이스터 DN010(Easter DN010)는 성형 온도 270℃/금형 온도 30℃로 하고, 폴리카르보네이트 수지 (미츠비시엔지니어링 플라스틱사 제조 유피론 S-3000R)는 성형 온도 270℃/금형 온도 30℃로 하고, ABS 수지 (테크노폴리머사 제조의 테크노 ABS810)는 성형 온도 240℃/금형 온도 30℃로 하여 각각 성형함으로써 접착 테스트용 테스트피스로 제공하였다.
오존 처리
이와사키덴키사 제조의 저압 수은 램프형 OC2507 (25 W 7등)을 이용하여 미리 탈지 처리를 실시한 JSR사 제조의 RB810 테스트피스 (폭 20 ㎜×길이 100 ㎜×두께 2 ㎜)를 오존 처리하였다. 오존 처리는 수은 램프로부터 테스트피스 표면까 지의 거리를 20 cm, 조사 시간 3분으로 하여 실시하였다. 이때, 파장이 254 nm인 자외선의 강도는 18 mW/㎠, 적산 광량은 7 J/㎠이다.
접촉각
측정
엘마사 제조의 고니오미터식 접촉각 측정기 G1형을 사용하여 테스트피스 상에 적하한 증류수 1 ㎕의 접촉각을 측정하였다.
접착 테스트
오존 처리 직후 및 미처리 테스트피스 (JSR사 제조의 RB810; 폭 20 ㎜×길이 100 ㎜×두께 2 ㎜)에 소정 용제를 1 mL 실린지로부터 적하시키고, 미리 탈지 처리를 실시한 각종 커넥터 피스 (폭 20 ㎜×길이 100 ㎜×두께 2 ㎜)와 중첩시켜 용제 접착을 하였다. 용제 접착 부분은 각각의 시험편의 끝 부분을 25 ㎜×12.5 ㎜의 직사각형이 되도록 2장의 성형 피스를 중첩시켰다. 용제 접착한 테스트피스는 50℃×24 시간 열처리를 실시한 뒤에 실온으로 되돌려 2 시간 정치한 후, 시마즈 제작소사 제조의 만능 인장 시험기 AG10kNE를 이용하여 전단 강도를 측정하였다.

약제로서 니트로글리세린 (농도 60 ㎍/mL)을 선택하여 수액 튜브 내를 유속 70 mL/시간으로 통과시켰을 때의 1 시간 경과 후 약제 잔존율을 측정하였다.

테스트에 제공한 튜브
RB810 (JSR사 제조), PVC (닛본제온사 제조의 101EP/디옥틸프탈레이트/에폭시 보조 가소제/유기 주석 안정화제/스테아르산 아연=100/46/8/2/1)를 JSR 연구소 연구실 압출기 (이케가이 FS40 (단축 40 ㎜ 압출기 (L/D=28))로 튜브 (외경/내경/두께=3.7 ㎜/3 ㎜/0.7 ㎜)로 제조하였다.
<실시예 1 및 비교예 1>
표 1에 실시예 1 및 비교예 1을 나타내었다. 실시예 1은 RB의 테스트피스에 오존 처리를 실시한 것이다. 1,720 cm-1에 카르보닐기의 흡수가 존재함을 알 수 있다. 극성기가 부여되었기 때문에 접촉각이 32도로 개선되고, 극성 용제인 시클로헥사논에 융합되기 쉬워지고, 극성 수지인 폴리카르보네이트와의 접착이 가능해져서 접착력이 충분히 발현되었음을 알 수 있다.
비교예 1은 RB의 테스트피스가 오존 처리되지 않았기 때문에 극성 용제, 극성 수지와의 상용이 바람직하지 않아 결과적으로 접착력이 부족함을 알 수 있다.
<실시예 2 및 비교예 2>

비교예 4는 PVC를 사용한 것으로 오존 처리를 실시하지 않더라도 극성 용제, 극성 수지와의 상용이 양호하고 접착 강도가 우수하다. 그러나, 수액 튜브로서 중요한 약품 흡착성이 높아서 약제의 잔존량이 감소 (손실이 있음)하여 바람직하지 않다. 또한, PVC에 포함되는 가소제가 인체에 각종 장해를 일으킬 우려가 있기 때문에 바람직하지 않다.
<실시예 1 및 비교예 5>
표 1에 실시예 1 및 비교예 5를 나타내었다. 실시예 1은 RB의 테스트피스에 오존 처리를 실시한 것이다. 1,720 cm-1에 카르보닐기의 흡수가 존재함을 알 수 있다. 극성기가 부여되었기 때문에 접촉각이 32도로 개선되고, 극성 용제인 시클로헥사논에 융합되기 쉬워지고, 극성 수지인 폴리카르보네이트와의 접착이 가능해져서 접착력이 충분히 발현되었음을 알 수 있다. 또한, 수액 튜브 용도에 중요한 투명성 (약액의 적정한 흐름을 확인할 수 있음), 유연성 (300% 인장 응력: 유연성이 있어서 튜브에 닿는 충격이 인체와 연결되는 바늘에 전파되기 어려워 바람직함)를 갖기 때문에 우수한 특성을 가짐을 알 수 있다.
비교예 5는 PE를 사용한 것으로, 극성을 갖지 않기 때문에 극성 용제, 극성 수지와의 상용이 불량하여 접착 강도가 부족하다. 또한, 수액 튜브로서 중요한 투 명성 및 유연성이 부족하여 바람직하지 않다.
본 발명에 따르면, 의료 용도에 유용하고 접합부에서 액 누설이 없을 뿐만이 아니라 유연성과 경도가 우수한 동시에 내증기멸균성이 우수하고 재순환이 가능하며 또한 염화비닐계 수지를 포함하지 않기 때문에 환경 문제에도 대응할 수 있는, 신디오탁틱 1,2-폴리부타디엔을 주체로 하는 의료용 부재와 이를 이용한 의료용 기구를 제공할 수 있다.
Claims (12)
- (1) 폴리부타디엔 성형품 표면의 수접촉각을 감소시키는 공정, 및(2) 상기 수접촉각이 감소된 폴리부타디엔 성형품을 극성 수지 성형품과 접착시키는 공정을 포함하는, 폴리부타디엔 성형품의 접착 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 폴리부타디엔이 결정화도 5% 이상의 신디오탁틱 1,2-폴리부타디엔인 폴리부타디엔 성형품의 접착 방법.
- 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 상기 (1) 공정이 오존 처리, 전자선 처리, 코로나 방전 처리, 플라즈마 방전 처리, 자외선 레이저 처리 및 화학 처리의 군에서 선택된 1종 이상인 폴리부타디엔 성형품의 접착 방법.
- 제1항 내지 제3항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 (1) 공정에 의해 얻어지는 수접촉각이 감소된 폴리부타디엔 성형품의 수접촉각 (CABR)이 80도 이하인 폴리부타디엔 성형품의 접착 방법.
- 제1항 내지 제4항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 극성 수지가 폴리카르보네이트 수지, 폴리에스테르 수지, ABS 수지, 폴리스티렌 수지, 폴리우레탄 수지, 폴리아미드 수지, 폴리알킬아크릴레이트 수지, 폴리알킬메타크릴레이트 수지, 폴리아세트산비닐 수지, 폴리염화비닐 수지 및 폴리염화비닐리덴 수지의 군에서 선택된 1종 이상인 폴리부타디엔 성형품의 접착 방법.
- 제1항 내지 제5항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, (1) 공정에 의해 얻어진 수접촉각이 감소된 폴리부타디엔 성형품의 수접촉각 (CABR)과 극성 수지 성형품의 수접촉각 (CAPR)의 차이 (ΔCA)가 +60도 내지 -15도인 폴리부타디엔 성형품의 접착 방법.
- 제1항 내지 제6항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, (2) 공정에서의 접착이 유기 용제에 의한 접착인 폴리부타디엔 성형품의 접착 방법.
- 제1항 내지 제7항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, 유기 용제가 시클로헥사논, 테트라히드로푸란, 시클로헥산, 메틸에틸케톤, 아세톤 및 아세트산에틸의 군에서 선택된 1종 이상인 폴리부타디엔 성형품의 접착 방법.
- 제1항 내지 제8항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서, (1) 공정에 의해 얻어진 수접촉각이 감소된 폴리부타디엔 성형품 및 극성 수지 성형품을 제8항에 기재된 유기 용제로 미리 처리하는 것인, 폴리부타디엔 성형품의 접착 방법.
- 제1항 내지 제9항 중 어느 한 항에 기재된 폴리부타디엔 성형품의 접착 방법에 의해 얻어지는 폴리부타디엔 복합 성형품.
- 제10항에 기재된 폴리부타디엔 복합 성형품을 적어도 포함하는 의료용 부재.
- 제11항에 기재된 의료용 부재를 구성 요소로 하는 수액 세트.
