Claims (8)
- 소자 기판과 대향 기판으로 구성되는 한 쌍의 기판 사이에 초기 배향 상태가 수직 배향을 나타내는 유전 이방성이 부(負)인 액정으로 이루어지는 액정층을 유지하여 이루어지고, 하나의 도트 영역 내에 투과 표시를 행하는 투과 표시 영역과 반사 표시를 행하는 반사 표시 영역이 마련된 액정 표시 장치로서,상기 소자 기판상에는, 상기 액정층을 구동하기 위한 화소 전극이 마련되고,적어도, 상기 화소 전극의 외측 영역 및 상기 화소 전극의 외주 가장자리부와 평면적으로 겹치는 영역이 상기 반사 표시 영역으로 되고, 상기 반사 표시 영역과 상기 투과 표시 영역에서 상기 액정층의 층 두께가 대략 동일하게 되어 있는것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 화소 전극과 평면적으로 겹치는 상기 대향 기판상의 영역에, 상기 액정층의 배향 방향을 제어하기 위한 배향 제어 수단이 더 마련되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제 2 항에 있어서,적어도 상기 배향 제어 수단과 평면적으로 겹치는 영역이 또한 상기 반사 표시 영역으로 되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 화소 전극은 각 도트 영역 내에서 각각이 서브도트 영역을 구성하는 복수의 섬 형상부와 이들 복수의 섬 형상부 사이를 연결하는 연결부를 갖고,적어도 상기 각 섬 형상부의 외주 가장자리부 및 상기 연결부와 평면적으로 겹치는 영역이 또한 상기 반사 표시 영역으로 되어 있는것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제 4 항에 있어서,상기 각 섬 형상부와 평면적으로 겹치는 상기 대향 기판상의 영역에, 상기 액정층의 배향 방향을 제어하기 위한 배향 제어 수단이 마련되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제 5 항에 있어서,적어도 상기 배향 제어 수단과 평면적으로 겹치는 영역이 또한 상기 반사 표 시 영역으로 되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제 1 항 내지 제 6 항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,상기 한 쌍의 기판의 각각에 대하여 대략 원편광을 입사시키기 위한 대략 원편광 입사 수단이 더 구비되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 청구항 1 내지 6 중 어느 한 항에 기재된 액정 표시 장치를 구비한 것을 특징으로 하는 전자기기.
