Claims (13)
- 하나 이상의 화학식 1의 화합물:[화학식 1](단, 상기 식에서,R11은 탄소수 1 내지 12의 알킬기 또는 탄소수 2 내지 12의 알케닐기이고,R12는 탄소수 2 내지 12의 알케닐기이다)을 포함하여 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 하는, 네거티브 유전 이방성 극성 화합물의 혼합물에 기초한 액정 매질.
- 제 1항에 있어서,추가적으로 하나 이상의 화학식 2의 화합물:[화학식 2](단, 상기 식에서,Z21은 -COO- 또는 단일 결합이고,A21은 트란스-1,4-사이클로헥실렌 또는 1,4-페닐렌이고,m은 1 또는 2이고,R21및 R22는 상호 독립적으로 탄소수 12 이하의 알킬 또는 알케닐기로, 추가적으로 하나 이상의 비-인접 CH2기가 -O-, -S- 및/또는 -C≡C-로 치환될 수 있다)을 포함하여 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 매질.
- 제 1항 또는 제 2항에 있어서,추가적으로 하나 이상의 화학식 3의 화합물:[화학식 3](단, 상기 식에서,고리 A는 트란스-1,4-사이클로헥실렌 또는 1,4-페닐렌으로, 하나의 H 원자가 F로 치환될 수 있고,R31및 R32는 상호 독립적으로 R21에 대하여 정의된 바와 같고,m은 1 또는 2의 값을 갖는다)을 포함하여 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 매질.
- 제 1항 내지 제 3항 중의 어느 한 항에 있어서,추가적으로 화학식 2a 내지 2j에서 선택되는 하나 이상의 화합물:[화학식 2a][화학식 2b][화학식 2c][화학식 2d][화학식 2e][화학식 2f][화학식 2g][화학식 2h][화학식 2i][화학식 2j](단, 상기 식에서,알킬은 각각 상호 독립적으로 탄소수 1 내지 6의 직쇄 알킬기이고,알케닐은 탄소수 2 내지 6의 직쇄 알케닐기이고,n은 0 또는 1이다)을 포함하여 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 매질.
- 제 1항 내지 제 4항 중의 어느 한 항에 있어서,화학식 3a 내지 화학식 3g에서 선택되는 하나 이상의 화합물:[화학식 3a][화학식 3b][화학식 3c][화학식 3d][화학식 3e][화학식 3f][화학식 3g](단, 상기 식에서,알킬은 각각 상호 독립적으로 탄소수 1 내지 6의 직쇄 알킬기이고,알케닐은 탄소수 2 내지 6의 직쇄 알케닐기이고,n은 0 또는 1이고,L은 H 또는 F이다)을 포함하여 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 매질.
- 제 1항 내지 제 5항 중의 어느 한 항에 있어서,4개 이상의 화학식 1 및 2의 화합물 및 하나 이상의 화학식 3의 화합물로 필수적으로 구성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 매질.
- 제 1항 내지 제 6항 중의 어느 한 항에 있어서,전체적으로 혼합물 중 화학식 1의 화합물의 비율이 10 중량% 이상인 것을 특징으로 하는 매질.
- 제 1항 내지 제 7항 중의 어느 한 항에 있어서,전체적으로 혼합물 중 화학식 2의 화합물의 비율이 30 중량% 이상인 것을 특징으로 하는 매질.
- 제 1항 내지 제 8항 중의 어느 한 항에 있어서,전체적으로 혼합물 중 화학식 3의 화합물의 비율이 5 중량% 이상인 것을 특징으로 하는 매질.
- 제 1항 내지 제 9항 중의 어느 한 항에 있어서,하나 이상의 화학식 1의 화합물 10-45 중량%,하나 이상의 화학식 2의 화합물 30-85 중량%, 및하나 이상의 화학식 3의 화합물 5-35 중량%를 포함하여 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 매질.
- 제 1항 내지 제 10항 중의 어느 한 항에 따른 액정 매질을 유전체로 함유하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기-광학 디스플레이 소자.
- 제 11항에 있어서,활성 어드레싱된 매트릭스인 것을 특징으로 하는 전기-광학 디스플레이 소자.
- 제 11항 또는 제 12항에 있어서,ECB 및/또는 VA 원리로 작동하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전기-광학 디스플레이 소자.
