Abstract

키프레임을 이용한 동화상기록장치는, 기록매체; 및 입력하는 동화상데이터스트림중에서 장면변화(scene change)가 일어날 때 검출되는 그 대표화면의 위치 및 상기 동화상데이터스트림을 상기 기록매체에 기록하는 기록수단을 포함한다. 또한, 키프레임을 이용한 동화상재생장치는, 부호화된 동화상데이터스트림과 그 동화상데이터스트림중에서 장면변화가 일어날 때의 그 대표화면의 위치가 기록된 기록매체; 및 상기 기록매체에 기록된 대표화면의 위치를 탐색하여 그 대표화면을 재생하는 재생수단을 포함한다. 여기서, 전술의 대표화면은 키프레임(key frame)이 바람직하다. 이로써, 본 발명은 부호화된 동화상데이터스트림을 기록시에는 장면변화를 대표하는 키프레임을 검출하여 그 위치를 마크해두고, 트릭모드재생시에는 마크된 키프레임의 위치를 탐색하여 키프레임만을 고속으로 재생함으로써, 동화상콘텐츠의 전체시나리오를 용이하게 파악할 수 있게 한다. 그러므로, 본 발명에 따른 동화상기록 및/또는 재생장치를 이용하는 사용자에게는 전체시나리오를 감상하는 도중 원하는 장면에서 정상재생모드로 전환함으로써 사용상 편리하면서도 시청만족도가 월등하게 향상된다.

Description

키프레임을 이용한 동화상 기록 및/또는 재생장치{A moving picture recording and/or reproduction apparatus using key frame}
본 발명은 키프레임을 이용한 동화상 기록 및/또는 재생장치에 관한 것으로서, 보다 구체적으로는, 부호화된 동화상데이터스트림을 기록시에는 장면변화를 대표하는 키프레임을 검출하여 그 위치를 마크해두고 트릭모드재생시에는 마크된 키프레임의 위치를 탐색하여 키프레임을 고속으로 재생함으로써, 동화상콘텐츠의 전체시나리오를 편리하면서도 만족스럽게 파악할 수 있게 하는 동화상 기록 및/또는 그 재생 장치에 관한 것이다.
종래의 동화상기록방식에서는 소정의 동화상데이터스트림을 그대로 기록매체에 기록하며, 그 동화상재생방식에서는 기설정된 배속별로 정속재생(1배속)/고속재생(2배속,4배속,6배속 등)한다.
하지만, 전술한 종래의 동화상 기록 및 재생방식에서는 그 재생모드가 기설정된 여러 배속들중의 하나로 고정되어 있으므로, 동화상데이터스트림중에서 사용자가 원하는 대표화면만을 효율적으로 재생할 수 없었다. 보다 구체적으로, 종래의 방식에서는 기설정된 배속들중의 하나로만 재생할 수 있으므로 관심이 없는 장면을 반복해서 시청해야 하거나 관심있는 장면을 놓치게 되는 경우가 많다. 그러므로, 종래의 방식은 사용자가 소정의 동화상(일례로 영화타이틀)콘텐츠의 전체 시나리오만을 검색하다가 원하는 장면에서 정속재생할 수 없어 사용자의 만족도를 크게 저감시킨다.
이러한 문제점을 개선하기 위하여, 미리 기록된 동화상콘텐츠를 시청하면서 원하는 장면마다를 사용자가 직접 마크해두고 이후에 그 마크된 위치를 재생하는 방식이 제안되었으나, 사용자가 일일이 수동으로 조작해야 하므로 사용상 매우 번거로울 뿐더러, 실시간으로 입력되는 동화상의 전체시나리오를 대표하는 화면만을 정확하게 마크하기가 용이하지 않다는 문제점을 여전히 갖는다.
전술한 문제점들을 모두 해결하기 위한 본 발명의 목적은, 입력되는 동화상데이터스트림중에서 전체 시나리오를 추정할 수 있는 대표화면의 위치를 자동으로 더 기록해주는 동화상기록장치를 제공함에 있다.
전술한 문제점들을 해결하기 위한 본 발명의 다른 목적은, 전술한 동화상기록장치에 의해 기록된 대표화면의 위치를 자동으로 탐색하여 그 대표화면을 고속으로 재생함으로써 기록된 동화상의 전체시나리오를 사용자가 용이하게 파악할 수 있게 하는 동화상재생장치를 제공함에 있다.
도 1은 본 발명의 바람직한 일실시예에 따른 키프레임을 이용한 동화상 기록 및/또는 재생장치를 나타낸 구성도.

전술의 목적을 달성하기 위한 본 발명의 동화상기록장치는, 기록매체; 및 입력하는 동화상데이터스트림중에서 장면변화(scene change)가 일어날 때 검출되는 그 대표화면의 위치 및 상기 동화상데이터스트림을 상기 기록매체에 기록하는 기록수단을 포함한다. 여기서, 상기 대표화면은 동화상데이터스트림중의 키프레임(key frame)이 바람직하나, 본 발명은 이에 한정되지는 않는다.
전술의 다른 목적을 달성하기 위한 본 발명의 동화상재생장치는, 부호화된 동화상데이터스트림과 그 동화상데이터스트림중에서 장면변화가 일어날 때의 그 대표화면의 위치가 기록된 기록매체; 및 상기 기록매체에 기록된 대표화면의 위치를 탐색하여 그 대표화면만을 재생하는 재생수단을 포함한다. 여기서, 상기 대표화면은 동화상데이터스트림중의 키프레임(key frame)이 바람직하나, 본 발명은 이에 한정되지는 않는다.
이하, 첨부한 도 1을 참조하여 본 발명의 바람직한 실시예에 따른 동화상기록장치 및 그 동화상재생장치를 상세하게 설명한다.
도 1의 장치는 키프레임을 이용한 동화상기록장치, 및 키프레임을 이용한 동화상재생장치로 대별된다.
키프레임검출및마크부(10) 및 기록처리부(12)를 포함하는 동화상기록수단으로는 부호화된 동화상데이터스트림이 입력된다. 여기서, 부호화된 동화상데이터스트림은 소정의 방송채널을 통해 수신되거나 외부기기로부터, 또는 기록매체로부터 재생되어 입력된다. 키프레임검출및마크부(10)는 입력하는 부호화된 동화상데이터스트림의 부호화규격에 근거하여 장면변화(scene change)의 유무, 및 장면변화가 일어날 때 그 대표화면에 대응하는 키프레임(key frame)의 위치를 검출하여 마크한다. 일례로, 전술의 동화상데이터스트림이 MPEG-부호화규격으로 부호화된 경우, 그 입력하는 동화상데이터스트림의 부호화규격의 인트라프레임(Intra-Frame)의 주기패턴이 그 부호화규격에 따른 정상적인 인트라프레임의 주기패턴으로부터 벗어나는 경우 장면변화가 일어난 것으로 판단하고, 그로부터 최초로 나타나는 인트라프레임을 대표프레임에 대응하는 키프레임(key frame)으로 검출한다. 기록처리부(12)는 대표화면의 위치가 마크된 동화상데이터스트림을 기록매체(14)에 기록한다. 그러므로, 기록매체(14)에는 부호화된 동화상데이터스트림과 함께 장면변화를 대표하는 화면의 위치가 기록된다. 여기서, 키프레임의 위치정보는 기록매체의 별도영역에 구분되게 기록될 수도 있고, 동화상데이터스트림과 함께 기록될 수도 있다.
한편, 키프레임위치탐색부(16) 및 재생처리부(18)를 포함하는 동화상재생수단은, 전술의 기록매체(14)에 기록된 대표화면의 위치정보를 탐색하여 그 대표화면만을 고속으로 재생한다. 구체적으로는, 키프레임위치탐색부(16)는 기록매체(14)의 별도영역에 또는 동화상데이터스트림과 함께 기록된 키프레임의 위치정보를 탐색한다. 그리고, 재생처리부(18)는 인가되는 재생모드가 전체시나리오를 감상하기 위한 트릭재생모드(trick mode; 고속전진재생모드)인 경우, 키프레임위치탐색부(16)에서 탐색된 키프레임의 위치마다로 점프하여 대응하는 키프레임의 데이터스트림을 독출하고 이를 부호화되기 이전의 영상데이터로 복원하여 화면상에 디스플레이한다.
이로써, 본 발명에 따른 기록 및/또는 재생장치를 사용하는 사용자는 고속으로 재생되는 동화상콘텐츠의 전체시나리오를 편리하게 파악할 수 있음과 동시에, 원하는 장면에서 정상재생모드로 전환함으로써 상세한 동화상을 감상할 수 있어 사용자의 만족도를 크게 개선한다.
한편, 전술한 본 발명의 바람직한 실시예로부터 언급되지 않은 다수의 변형된 실시예들이 도출가능함은, 전술한 본 발명의 기술적 사상 및 바람직한 실시예를 잘 이해할 이 기술분야의 당업자에게는 자명하다.
전술한 바와 같이 본 발명은, 부호화된 동화상데이터스트림을 기록할 때에는 장면변화를 대표하는 키프레임을 검출하여 그 위치를 기록해두고, 트릭모드재생시에는 기록된 키프레임의 위치를 탐색하여 해당 키프레임만을 고속으로 재생함으로써, 동화상콘텐츠의 전체시나리오를 용이하게 파악할 수 있게 한다. 그러므로, 이러한 본 발명에 따른 동화상 기록 및/또는 재생 장치를 이용하는 사용자에게는 전체시나리오를 감상하는 도중 원하는 장면에서 정상재생모드로 전환함으로써 사용상 매우 편리하면서도 시청만족도가 월등하게 향상된다.

Claims (6)

  1. 동화상기록장치에 있어서,
    기록매체; 및
    입력하는 동화상데이터스트림중에서 장면변화(scene change)가 일어날 때 검출되는 그 대표화면의 위치 및 상기 동화상데이터스트림을, 상기 기록매체에 기록하는 기록수단을 포함하는 장치.
  2. 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 기록수단은,
    상기 동화상데이터스트림중에서 장면변화가 일어날 때의 대표화면에 대응하는 키프레임(key frame)의 위치를 검출하고, 그 위치를 마크하는 키프레임검출및마크부; 및
    상기 대표화면의 위치가 마크된 동화상데이터스트림을 상기 기록매체에 기록하는 기록처리부를 포함하는 장치.
  3. 제 2항에 있어서, 상기 키프레임검출및마크부는,
    상기 입력하는 부호화된 동화상데이터스트림의 부호화규격에 근거하여 상기 장면변화의 유무 및 그 대표화면을 검출하는 장치.
  4. 제 3항에 있어서, 상기 키프레임검출및마크부는, 상기 부호화규격이 MPEG-부호화규격인 경우, 상기 부호화된 동화상데이터스트림의 부호화규격의 인트라프레임의 주기패턴이 그 부호화규격에 따른 정상적인 인트라프레임의 주기패턴으로부터 벗어나는 경우 장면변화가 일어난 것으로 판단하고, 그로부터 최초인 인트라프레임을 상기 키프레임으로서 검출하는 장치.
  5. 동화상재생장치에 있어서,
    부호화된 동화상데이터스트림과, 그 동화상데이터스트림중에서 장면변화가 일어날 때의 그 대표화면의 위치가 기록된 기록매체; 및
    상기 기록매체에 기록된 대표화면의 위치를 탐색하여, 그 대표화면을 재생하는 재생수단을 포함하는 장치.
  6. 제 5항에 있어서, 상기 재생수단은,
    상기 기록매체에 동화상프레임데이스트림중의 대표화면에 대응하는 키프레임(key frame)의 위치를 탐색하는 키프레임위치탐색부; 및
    트릭재생모드에서, 상기 키프레임위치탐색부에서 탐색된 상기 키프레임의 위치마다로 점프하여 대응하는 키프레임의 데이터스트림을 독출 및 복원하는 재생처리부를 포함하는 장치.
