Claims (21)
- 교반 수단을 구비한 제1 반응 용기에 분말화된 폴리벤즈이미다졸 예비폴리머를 준비하는 단계;상기 제1 반응 용기로부터 상기 분말화된 폴리벤즈이미다졸 예비폴리머를 제거하는 단계;세척 결과 혼합물(a resulting wash mixture)을 얻기 위해 상기 제1 반응 용기 및 상기 교반 수단을 압력 세척(pressure washing)하는 단계;습식 분말화된 예비폴리머(a wet pulverized polymer)를 얻기 위해 상기 세척 결과 혼합물로부터 초과 수분을 분리하는 단계;상기 분말화된 예비폴리머 및 상기 습식 분말화된 예비폴리머를 상기 제1 반응 용기 또는 제2 반응 용기로 이동(transfer)시키는 단계; 및상기 분말화된 예비폴리머 및 상기 습식 분말화된 예비폴리머를 섭씨 315도 내지 400도의 온도 및 대기압 하에서 90분 내지 400분 동안 교반하면서 가열하는 단계;를 포함하는 폴리벤즈이미다졸(high molecular weight polybenzimidazole)의 제조를 위한 용융 중합 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 압력 세척은 70.3 킬로그램-힘/제곱 센티미터 게이지(kilogram-force/square centimeter gauge) (1000 psig) 이하의 압력으로 수행되는 것을 특징으로 하는 폴리벤즈이미다졸의 제조를 위한 용융 중합 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 압력 세척은 70.3 킬로그램-힘/제곱 센티미터 게이지 (1000 psig)보다 큰 압력으로 수행되는 랜싱 단계(a lancing step)인 것을 특징으로 하는 폴리벤즈이미다졸의 제조를 위한 용융 중합 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 압력 세척 단계 전에 상기 제1 반응 용기를 냉각하는 단계를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 폴리벤즈이미다졸의 제조를 위한 용융 중합 방법.

- 제1항에 있어서,상기 분말화된 예비폴리머를 상기 제1 반응 용기 또는 제2 반응 용기로 이동시키는 단계에서상기 분말화된 예비폴리머의 추가적 배치(additional batch)가 상기 반응 용기로 첨가되는 것을 특징으로 하는 폴리벤즈이미다졸의 제조를 위한 용융 중합 방법.
