Description
Claims (11)
- 水銀をアマルガムの状態で封入してなる放電管と、
前記放電管内において、アマルガム周辺の温度変化を補償するように該アマルガムの周辺温度を制御する温度制御部材と
を備える水銀放電ランプ。 - 前記温度制御部材は、前記アマルガムを所定位置で担持する担持体を含み、該担持体がバイメタルによって構成され、該アマルガムの周辺温度の変化に応じて該担持体が変形することにより、該担持体に担持された前記アマルガムの前記放電管のフィラメントに対する離隔距離を変化させ、もって、該アマルガムに対する該フィラメントによる発熱量の影響を変化させる、請求項1の水銀放電ランプ。
- 前記担持体の一端が前記放電管内における前記フィラメントの取付ベースに固定され、前記担持体の自由端寄りに前記アマルガムが配置され、前記アマルガムの周辺温度の低下又は上昇に応じた該担持体の変形に伴って該担持体の自由端が前記フィラメントに近づく又は遠ざかるような配置で前記担持体の一端が前記取付ベースに固定されている、請求項2の水銀放電ランプ。
- 前記温度制御部材は、温度に応じて抵抗値が変化する抵抗素子を前記アマルガムの近傍に配置してなり、温度変化に伴う該抵抗素子の抵抗値変化に応じて電気的発熱体の発熱を制御するように構成された、請求項1の水銀放電ランプ。
- 前記抵抗素子は、温度低下に応じて抵抗値が増加するタイプの抵抗素子であり、該抵抗素子が前記電気的発熱体として機能する、請求項4の水銀放電ランプ。
- 前記抵抗素子は、温度低下に応じて抵抗値が減少するタイプの抵抗素子であり、前記電気的発熱体は該抵抗素子に直列接続された発熱用抵抗からなる、請求項4の水銀放電ランプ。
- 前記温度制御部材は、点灯持続時における出力の低下に伴う放電管の温度低下を補償するように前記アマルガムの周辺温度を上昇させる、請求項1乃至6のいずれかの水銀放電ランプ。
- 前記温度制御部材は、前記放電管内において前記アマルガムの近傍に設けられた電気的発熱体と、前記放電管の口金部の内部に配置され、前記アマルガム周辺の温度低下を補償するように前記電気的発熱体に電流を供給する回路素子とを含む、請求項1の水銀放電ランプ。
- 前記回路素子は、温度低下に応じて抵抗値が変化するタイプの抵抗素子を含む、請求項8の水銀放電ランプ。
- 前記回路素子は、前記放電管のフィラメントに供給される電圧の増加に応答して動作する第1の回路素子と、前記第1の回路素子の動作に応じて前記電気的発熱体に電流を供給する第2の回路素子とを含む、請求項8の水銀放電ランプ。
- 前記第1の回路素子は、定電圧ダイオードを含み、前記第2の回路素子は、前記定電圧ダイオードの出力を増幅する増幅回路素子を含む、請求項10の水銀放電ランプ。
