Abstract
Description
画像表示を行なわせようとする場合、発光させる領域を考慮し、光源からの光にマスクを施し、表示したい画像形状に合わせてからパネル部に供給することが必要であると考えられる。しかしながら、本表示装置では、反射型の表示方式において用いている電極を発光型の表示方式にも有用に活用し、マスクなどを設けることがなくとも所望の画像表示をすることができる。
Claims (7)
- 基板と、 前記基板に保持された材料層を有する表示装置であって、 前記材料層は、温度変調によって透明状態又は着色状態となる発色材料と、光励起によって発光する発光材料と、を含む表示装置。
- 前記発色材料は、透明状態において、400nm以上900nm以下の範囲内における波長の光の吸光度が0.3以下である請求項1記載の表示装置。
- 前記発色材料は、ロイコ染料と、顕色剤を含む請求項1記載の表示装置。
- 前記発光材料を発光させる光励起用光源を有する請求項1記載の表示装置。
- 前記材料層において、少なくとも前記発色材料と前記発光材料がそれぞれ0.5mM以上100mMの濃度で分散されている請求項1記載の表示装置。
- 前記材料層は複数の層からなり、各層における前記発色材料は層毎に異なる請求項1記載の表示装置。
- 前記発色材料の基底状態と励起状態のエネルギー差が、前記発光材料の基底状態と励起状態のエネルギー差以下である請求項1記載の表示装置。
