Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce consumption of a toner and to obtain correct image density by specifying a dielectric tangent of the toner containing a colorant and a binder resin. CONSTITUTION:The toner composition containg at least the colorant and the binder resin has a dielectric tangent tan delta of 3.5X10<-3>-5.0X10<-3>, and a proper amount of toner can be attached in a range of not adversely affecting image density even when a photosensitive body provided with a photosensitive layer having a high dielectric constant undergoes a large amount of electric charge in a charging step, because the toner has the dielectric tangent in said range which is the index of electrical and physical loss component, thus permitting the obtained toner to be reduced in consumption and to form a correct image density.
