Abstract

PURPOSE: To retain superior image density and gradation for a long time, by coating an oxidized iron powder core with a thin film resin of specified resistivity in order to raise resistivity of the resin coated carrier.
CONSTITUTION: This resin coated carrier is prepared by coating an oxidized iron powder as a core material with a thin film resin. A resin/powder ratio is kept ≤10, and resistivity of the resin coated carrier thus obtained is kept within 1×107W 1011Ω.cm. This carrier has low resistivity change, it can retain superior image density and gradation for a long time, and its cost is comparatively low.
