Abstract

PURPOSE: To form a thin uniform resin layer coated on each carrier, by dissolving a coating resin in a solvent containing a low volatile component, coating it on carriers, and mealing them while removing the low volatile component.
CONSTITUTION: Carriers, such as iron powder are mixed with a resin solution made by dissolving a resin in a proper amount of a solvent mixture of a low volatile solvent and a volatile solvent. The volatile solvent gradually evaporates and carriers 21 attach to one another due to the resin in coating layers 23. These carriers 21 are separated by mechanical means or the like, resulting in forming smooth surface carriers 21 free of acute projections and exposure of carrier 21 surfaces due to the low volatile solvent remaining. Then, the low volatile component is removed by heating and at the same time mealing is continued, thus permitting thin uniform resin coating layer 23 to be obtained.
