Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a power load unbalance relay from making unnecessary action by dividing the range of the load efficiency in a steam turbine generating plant into a plurality of sections and setting the quick load reduction rate at which the relay is to be operated for each section. CONSTITUTION:A power load unbalance relay, that is, PLU operates when a sudden reduction in load occurs with a steam turbine generating plant operating at the specified load efficiency or more. In such case a plurality of PLU operation performances are set with the threshold of X% in the load efficiency. That is, PLU operates under the load ranging from X% to full. Within said operation range, the PLU operation performance is set to A%/sec at the load X% to another X% and set to B%/sec at the load X% or more. These set values can be changed by a converter according to the output of a generator or the load. The sudden load reduction rate within the higher load range is set higher than that within the lower load range.
