PURPOSE:To obtain a Cu-based alloy for a piezoelectric vibrator case having excellent strength, deep drawability and stress corrosion cracking resistance by adding specific amounts of Zn, Sn, Ni and Mn to Cu and alloying it. CONSTITUTION:The Cu-based alloy contg., by weight, 3-20% Zn, 0.1-4.0% Sn, 1-15% Ni and 0.001-2.0% Mn is used as the material for a sealed type piezoelectric (quartz) vibrator case. Said alloy ingot is worked into a thin plate of about 0.25mm by the hot rolling, cold rolling and annealing stage; and the title material having excellent tensile strength, elongation, solderability, Ni platability, corrosion resistance and stress corrosion cracking resistance is produced at low cost.
