Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a steel plate with improved pitting corrosion resistance, improved weldability and superior workability by preparing steel contg. a specified percentage of C, Si, Mn, Al, Cu and Ni as basic components.
CONSTITUTION: Steel is prepared consisting of 0.001W0.15% C, 0.005W1.0% Si, 0.01W2.0% Mn, 0.001W0.07% Al, 0.1W0.24% Cu, 0.001W0.04% P, 0.01W0.48% Ni and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities. This steel is refined and made an ingot, which is then hot rolled, cold rolled, and annealed to obtain the desired steel plate. In order to enhance the mechanical strength, to the steel may be added one or more among 0.01W0.3% each of Nb, V, Ti and Mo, 0.01W0.1% Cr and 0.0001W0.05% B.
