Abstract

PURPOSE:To protect an inverter circuit from overcurrent by interrupting a feedback to a switching element when output current of the inverter circuit are made overcurrent. CONSTITUTION:A current transformer 9 is current-coupled with a main circuit for an inverter, and output currents of the transformer 9 are converted into voltage at a constant ratio by using a CR circuit 13. When overcurrents are flowed through the main circuit and said voltage exceeds a fixed value, a trigger element 7 is turned ON, and a photo-TRIAC coupler 8 is turned ON. Consequent ly, voltage at both ends of a winding 3c for a current transformer 3 is held at voltage (approximately 1V) at the time of the conduction of a light-receiving TRIAC. Accordingly, when the turn ratio of the winding 3c to windings 3a, 3b is brought to 2:1, voltage at both ends of the windings 3a, 3b is held at half (0.5V) voltage at both ends of the winding 3c. Power transistors 2a, 2b are cut off when base emitter voltage is brought to a constant value (approxi mately 0.6V), thus stopping the inverter.
