Abstract

PURPOSE:To make cooling uniformly and to improve surface flow in a slab at non-stationary speed part by fixing air quantity in the range of less than the prescribed water quantity and proportioning the air quantity to the water quantity so that the air/water ratio comes to the prescribed ratio in the range of exceeding the prescribed water quantity. CONSTITUTION:Specification of a mist nozzle is suitably selected so that water pressure in the range of using water quantity comes to the prescribed pressure. Next, water quantity characteristic curve showing relation between the water pressure and water quantity for each mist nozzle are beforehand measured. Further, mist limit curve for the prescribed drip diameter is measured to find the water pressure at branch point of the constant line of the air/water ratio and the constant line of air quantity. Further, control characteristic curve, which the mist limit curve is approximated from the side in the good range of the mist, is decided. Next, the water quantity to the prescribed water pressure from the water quantity characteristic curve is found to control air quantity by using this as a parameter. Then, the water quantity at the branch point is strored in a computer as the parameter of spray pattern and the water quantity at the branch point and the actual value of the water quantity flowing the nozzle at the present are compared, to decede whether the constant line control of the air quantity or the constant line control of air/water ratio, by the computer.
