Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate lag in rising of potential acceptance and to reduce change of residual potential even after repeated cycles of charging and exposure by forming an undercoat layer composed essentially of calcium fluoride or magnecium fluoride between a conductive substrate and a photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:The electrophotographic sensitive body is formed by successively laminating on the conductive substrate the undercoat layer containing calcium fluoride or magnesium fluoride, and preferably, a binder resin, in a calcium or magnesium fluoride to binder resin ratio of 1/1-9/1, preferably, 3/2-6/1 by weight, and an electric charge generating layer, and a charge transfer layer, and when said ratio is smaller than 1/1, the effect is small, and when it exceeds 9/1, bubbles remain in the undercoat layer, and defects occur in the coating films of the charge generating layer and the charge transfer layer, thus permitting the obtained photosensitive body to be not lagged in rising of acceptance potential and to be reduced in change of residual potential.
