Abstract
PURPOSE:To discharge with the whole electrode plate during a discharge after an overcharge and improve the overcharge characteristic by specifying the hole diameter distribution of an active material constituting a positive electrode plate. CONSTITUTION:An active material constituting a positive electrode plate has the hole diameter distribution with the fine hole volume 40% or more for the hole diameter 0.1mum or less against the whole fine hole volume. In the positive electrode plate using such active material, the density is high and the hole diameter is small, and the diffusion of sulfuric acid into the lattice boundary surface at the time of overcharge is prevented. The corrosion of the lattice rarely occurs, and gaps caused by the peeling of a corrosion layer are rarely generated. The whole electrode plate, not just near the lattice, is discharged during the discharge after an overcharge, thus the capacity deterioration after the overcharge can be prevented.
