Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent roll processing characteristics, solderability and heat and electrical conductivity from lowering and enhance corrosion resistance by forming a first coated layer constituted of a metal electrochemically baser than Cu on the surface of Cu or Cu alloy strip, on which a second coated Cu layer is formed. CONSTITUTION:A first coated layer 2 constituted of a metal electrochemically inferior to Cu is formed on the surface of a Cu or Cu alloy strip 1, on which a second coated Cu layer 3 is formed. Roll processing of said layers can be carried out after a slight diffusion treatment or without any diffusion treatment, and solderability can be improved, while corrosion resistance can be improved by the first coated layer 2. As for the metal or alloy electrochemically baser than Cu, for example, such a metal as Zn, Al, Ni, Co, Sn, Pb, Fe or the like or an alloy containing said metals, and particularly Zn is most preferable from the economical viewpoint. After the first and second coated layers are coated, an interdiffused layer 4 can be formed on the surface layer of the Cu or Cu alloy strip by heating such as a means of annealing or the like.
