Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the intergranular corrosion resistance of a Zn coating and prevent the coating from peeling by incorporating specified amounts of Al and at least one of Cu, Sb, etc. into Zn for galvanizing. CONSTITUTION:Into Zn used for galvanizing steel material are added 0.05- 20.wt% of Al and 0.2-1.0wt% of at least one of Cu and Sb. By using the Zn alloy, a Zn coating which has excellent corrosion resistance, particularly intergranular corrosion resistance, as well as excellent appearance and which will not peel off at bending and the like can be formed.
