Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance the corrosion resistance and working adhesion of a hot dipped steel sheet by adding a very small amount of Sn or Si to a Zn alloy contg. Mg and Al for a hot dipping composition. CONSTITUTION:This Zn alloy for a hot dipping composition contains 0.1-2.0% Mg, 0.1-1.0% Al and 0.01-0.5% Sn or Si as the 3rd alloying component. The addition of Mg and Al accelerates the formation of a dense and continuous thin film. Sn or Si added by such a fixed amount causes surface concn. in a solidifying process or forms an intermetallic compound together with Mg, Al and Zn and has an effect of preventing the discoloration of the hot dipped metal.
